If the wastegate spring rate Steve is using. I hardly see any external wastegate running 7-8psi. Most commonly 10psi spring and above..

thanks, bro. i knew the minimume is 10psi. I have the HKS racing wastegate, so i'm sure that's 10psi. then why am i only boosting at 8psi????

Look at your injector duty cycle to see if you have enough 'injector' for the boost levels you want to run. The stock fuel system is good for ~400RWHP. The problem with asking how much boost is the stock system good for is dependant on many things. If you have a big ported motor you will be running less boost but need more fuel. Also, you can run more boost, but redline your car earlier if you don't have enough fuel. That will allow you to keep the stock fuel system if you want.

See what your injector duty cycle is and go from there. Did any of that make sense.?

I have a freind (Dragon) that runs stock injectors w/slightly raised fuel pressure on a 60-1 at about 14 pounds of boost and he's been doing this for at least a year. When I had the TD-06 I ran stock injectors at 32psi static fuel pressure and 12 pounds of boost and was about even w/ my buddy. It can be done, just be careful.

That's weird, usually people have problem controling boost and want to tame it, but you guys seems to have problem with getting boost..

Either you have a leak somewhere or you have a restriction somewhere. Ex. Friend with the same HKS racing wastegate (14psi spring) and Garrett T04S is only boostin 5-6psi (no boost controller hooked up yet) because he has a stock exhaust with a ported motor..

Another possibilty is ur lack of fuel management limit ur heavy foot to go FULL WOT to get a full reading what your car can boost..

At any rate you can also put in a manual home made boost controller just to see what happens..

the only way you can be running less boost than the wastegate spring is if you have a boost leak somewhere. there is no other way it is possible unless you are running like a 3000-3500rpm rev limit.

is it possible to have a boost restriction if you have a restrictive exhaust?
say you have a boost spring of 15psi but only get 10psi?...could the exhaust cause that?
NOTE:no cat.
or for that matter the intercooler?could that cause that much restriction?

I thought I already mentioned that with my friend's case, but at any rate yes it's possible to have restriction in ur exhaust path forcing out through your wastegate.
