question about surge tanks

question, what are the perpose of the fuel surge tank and why is a must, should i need one for my blow thru setup? somebody have pics of how they work? thanks

Prevents fuel starvation when vehicle experiences high-G conditions (turn, launch).

Lift pump fills surge tank at low pressure, main pump feeds rails at high pressure, extra fuel is returned to surge tank, surge tank overflow is returned to main tank.

I think the original poster was talking about an INTAKE surge tank sitting on top of the carb...
...not a fuel surge tank.

i thought your car was efi?

keep at least 1/2 a tank og gas in your car and you wont need a surge tank, eddie
