Help identifying a turbo

My dad called me up and told me he had found a turbo out at his shop off of a 800ci irrigation engine and asked me if I wanted it. Well I figured this thing would be huge and of no use to me, but I go to pick it up and here it is:

I am guessing the compressor housing is a T04 with a .6 a/r, and then all the turbine side says is a/r 1.32D.

I know that some kits use a T04E/R housing, how would this turbo compare to that also how would it compare to say a T60-1? Would there be any use for this except in a custom setup? Thanks.

Jeff

*I don't know a whole lot about turbos, but I am in the process of reading Maximum Boost, so go easy one me!*

Pop the compressor housing off the top of the turbo and measure the minor and major diameter of the compressor wheel.

OK well it has these clamp things that you have to bend off and crap to unscrew the bolt and I don't really wanna mess up this turbo cause I am an idiot, but, I did meaure the minor compressor wheel size and it is ~2.625 and the turbine wheel minor is ~ 2.562
Which these measurements match up best with the HKS T04R/GT63, but it is a garrett turbo, does that matter? Is it safe to say that because these two measurement matched up that this turbo has the same specs as the HKS T04R/GT63? Or do I just need to quit being a ***** and crack it open? Thanks alot!

Quit being a ***** and crack the comp housing off!..lol.. j/k. FWIW its a TO4B looking turbo to me (8 paired comp blades and a T04B comp housing). It looks to be the exact same one that has been all over ebay and other shops. Its a industrial turbo for a diesal application. Most likely a V-trim T04B comp and p-trim turbine (with a HUGE 1.32 A/R turbine... can you say slow spool?). Not much better then 350 whp and not a stellar spool rate on a 13b.

Heh thanks, yea I figured that exhaust side a/r was big, and I guess it kinda makes sense its coming off a huge engine and all. I had actually thought about doing a custom setup with it on a 350 V8, but not sure if it is big enough to make the power I want by itself.
