Question about manifold to turbo gasket
This is probably a really stupid question, but I am just wondering about a gasket I had received as part of my turbo kit. A small fraction of the exhaust seems to be blocked by the gasket. Will this hinder performance enough to be a concern? Should I go on and purchase another gasket?
Here is a picture of what I'm talking about.

Here is what the turbo side looks like with the same gasket.

It seems like the flange on the manifold side has bigger holes than the turbo or is it just me?
The flange on both sides is divided. The turbo is twin scroll.

Probably should just use an undivided gasket anyhow...it's commonplace to burn up the bridge in those gaskets...unless your day job is chauffeuring Miss Daisy.

You have a divided turbo and gasket, with an undivided manifold. It's not exactly ideal however you slice it. I'd go with billyboy though and just get a gasket for an undivided turbo/manifold, since that's your cheapest fix.
The correct fix would be to get both the turbo and the manifold to match with being divided or un-divided.

Excuse my ignorance, but this is a divided manifold, is it not? Is it that the flange on the manifold is just a different shape from the one on the turbo? Can I assume that it is a fix via altering the flange on the manifold, or welding a more suitable one on?

Looks like there would be a slight blockage of the flow of exhaust from the manifold to the turbo due to the mismatch in shape of the flanges (the manifold side is slightly bigger than the turbo side. Am I wrong on this and that there wouldn't be so much of an issue?
