question about egv plugs

is it okay to use egv non resistor plugs? what are the effects of non resistor?

i just put 4 b9egv plugs in my FD, i have stock ngk wires, is it okay to use them?

i can live with stereo noise, but I've heard rumors that using a nonresistor plug where it's not suppose to be used, might immobilize the car.

also, what are the bad effects of short bodied plugs? i heard they might cause detonation? why is that?

reason i posted in single turbo forum is because most people who are using egv plugs are here.

thanks,

Randy

Hey Randy,

I was worried about the non-resistor issue, too, but I didn't notice any bad effects. It didn't even make radio noise.

I am just guessing, but the shorter plug might leave some threads exposed, which would be a likely place to build up carbon. Carbon deposits can cause pre-ignition. Of course, with the non-surface gap plugs, you can't use a longer plug because it would hit the rotor if you did. I don't know if this is a real issue or not. The advice to use those plugs came from experienced folks, so I figure it is probably not a big deal.
