Q??? for Hks 50mm Wastegate users??????????

Just switched from an Hks standard to an hks 50mm. The racing gate has two holes on top one is in the middle and small, one is on the top but closer to the side and is bigger(same size as the side port. My standard has only two holes 1 on top and one one the side. What is the extra hole for???

well i dont know what the very top (in the middle) hole is for but, me and other people block it off w a 1/8 npt nut and use the off centered hole for bc.<<<<i think u only do this when using a boost cont if not just hook up the side entrance

If it's an HKS racegate it should have an adjusting bolt on the center top hole to adjust the wastegate spring pressure.Sounds like its missing on yours?

I'm puting this back up to the top so you guys can confirm this last statement.

I installed a brand new Blitz spec S controller today according to the directions supplied in the manual.

1. IN port of solonoid to IC pipe just before TB.
2. Solonoid out to Top of Wastegate.
3. Side of wastegate to Turbo compressor Nipple/outlet

After adjusting boost setting and gain from 0-100 I still could not get more than 8 lbs of boost. It's obviously running off the wastegate spring.

Now, I have the 50 mm Racegate with TWO ports on the top. one smaller hole in the Center, and one Larger (NPT Fitting) towards the edge. This is the port I used for my BC. There is nothing in the center hole. Should there in fact be a bolt in there and does it really adjust spring pressure?

Thanks in advance! If you know the anwer, Please Post!

Hey dude i'm having the same problem as you do, before installing this new HKS 50mm i was boosting at 14psi and after installing i was limited to only 8psi. And yeah i cap the middle top hole with a bolt, i've got to follow this thread to see if anyone has the same damn problem or knows how to fix this.

Are you sure it's a REAL HKS wastegate?
The fake **** doesn't have the adjustable stud in the center, and they come with a silver sticker brand new.

No doesn't make a damn different with it cap off or not. I even call HKSUSA and they said try not to cap it off but still no different.

Also that's the hole to adjust the wastagate but only with a bolt nothing else. It does not have a special adjustable bolt just an 1/8 fitting that's all.

Like Ted says, the real racing wastegates come with a stud to adjust the spring tension and HKS logo cast in the top of the aluminum cap. You should be calling the cheap china distributor not hks with your problem.
