My t-88 project will be finished very soon, this turbo will push some serious power!
At only 14psi were expecting close to 450whp, this turbo will blow 50psi so you will probably never use all the power that it will produce.

There will be lot's of lag with this turbo, there have been a few on this site that have had the t-88 so they could tell you. It's mainly a drag turbo!!

You need some major fuel upgrades to utilize the "real" power of this turbo.
I am running a Microtech, so I cant help you with all your questions.

Send ErnieT a pm, he will tell you all about the t-88 he had on his car before he went gt42R. He made 600+ on 30 psi i believe.

Isn't there a BIG difference between a Greddy T-88 and a Garrett T-88?

/\ yes big difference.

From what i heard from anthony the t88 isnt that laggy. theres 2 differences. THe T88 & the T88 34D. i was told by anthony that the Regular t88 isnt that laggy. that you couldnt tell the difference between the t88 & the T78.

My T78 boost around 4000rpms. & full boost by 5000rpms. i dont mind the lag (since my car is mainly a highway runner. but thats just my opinion!

its laggy but it can make big power gains. on a big street port expect 500 way before the 20psi mark!

I wouldn't say 500 WAY BEFORE the 20psi mark. It would be safe to say 20psi will get you low 500's. Perhaps 520hp if done tight... every setup is different.. and a GT42 has difficulty making those claims.

You'd be close to it by 20

I just finished my T-88 car... Unfortunatly I accidently left a 30 psi wastegate spring in the car for the dyno. But it made 417 rwhp at 20 psi at 70% throttle. Im very happy with the spool time of the 88-34d we were seeing 2 psi around 4200rpm and 20 around 4600 rpm. My motor has a large port though.

That wastegate spring is going to make it laggy.

Throw a 10psi spring in there and use a boost controller to set your boost, makes a big difference.

I'll post a preliminary 450RWHP dyno pass that I made previously with a T88 34D on Mobil 93 octane pump gas, and stock Mazda 9 platinum plugs all around. My goal was to see how far I can take the car under the gasoline and sparkplug conditions described. For this dyno pass I richened up the fuel on the secondary injector lag time on the PFC by .06 more than how it is set when normally tuned. My reasons for doing so were because I wanted to be safe, it ended up being a little too safe and causing the car to have too much fuel on top, and loosing power(henceforth the sloppy graph on the top of the powerband). It seems that I probably lost about 20-25 peakHP or so because of this on this pass. My timing was pretty conservative and could be bumped up a degree or two, and the boost could be raised as well. The sparkplugs that were on this run have been in my car for about a year or so, put a lot of mileage on the car and I'm still using them, I'm pretty impressed by them for now(Go Mazda and NGK!), even though I will probably be changing them the next time I go tuning just to keep things fresh. This was on a Dynojet, and the horsepower rating shown is true, it's in SAE correction(I don't use anything else because I've seen some dyno graphs posted on this forum before that were not in SAE correction, and therefore misleading, SAE is the way that the Society of Automotive Engineers measure HP, and what the industry consider to be the standard. I could've posted a standard correction factor and shown bigger HP #'s, but that's not realistic and I'd by lying to myself as well as everyone else). Also I don't use any smoothing on the graphs, I do this because the graph will show every little abnormality and that helps when fine tuning(That's why just by looking at this graph you can tell the car was too rich up top). I was also having problems with the ignition signal pickup to the dyno on this pass and therefore couldn't get an rpm signal, therefore not being able to get a torque reading, sorry about that. I will return to the dyno after me and JD(Boostn7) can meet up sometime soon and do some more tweaking with the tune.

You want to use someone elses map???

Big mistake...

If you're going to do it, have it tuned by a reputable tuner otherwise you're throwing all that stuff into your engine and just asking to blow it and throw a seal through the turbo.
