porting and idle/start characteristics
all of you guys with the LARGE exhaust ports and semi large intake ports. are they typically harder to start or is it just a matter of fiddling with the crank fuel/timing? the last two motors i built with very large exhaust ports take and extra second or so to start. it kinda bothers me but if it is normal than i wont worry about it.

How big are we talking here? Are they the same size as the exhaust ports on www.staffsauto.com??
I haven't had any problems whatsoever with starting...the motor starts up as it did when it was stock. And idle pretty close to a stock motor with some idle fuel adjustment.
