Please help me identify this turbo pictures measurments.

For the smarter listers, please help me to ID this turbo:

General description, seller says its a t66, and paid 900 dollars for it. The hot side is 66mm, the cold side is approximatly 53. There are no markings on the cold side and the only markings on the hot side is the number 10238-02. It is polished and the casting looks ok quality. The manifold clearly looks like an OBX or other similar. Price is 700 for both, and he seemed willing to negotiate.

Is it worth it?

Is it a junk no name turbo thats worth nothing?

Thanks,

CJ

the compressor housing looks like a garrett gt35 or gt40 i have seen a few people take the markings off of the turbins "it makes it look nicer" but the neck on your compressor to hook up to your charge pipe does resemble garrett. i have seen a few HKS kits out here in japan have the lettering all filesd off and pollished though also and the bell housing on both an HKS and a Garrett look alike. check and see if the bell housing is detachable like on an ICI turbine. for example the C-7 ICI has a smaller inlet bell but has a bolt on flange held in place by an allen key that brings the bell out like you see in your pictures. i would stay away from that manifold though looking at the picture the bolt hole is not exactly in a good spot for dependability remember that a turbine puts a lot of preasure heat and force on the four bolts that hold the manifold onto the block. a shitty flange like that could cost you dearly in the long run if it broke off. if you can get the guy down to say 500 providing there is no slop, shaft play, grinding, or bent blades i say go for it the worst thing that happens is you get a turbine for 500 that only lasts a few months. as long as your not beating the hell out of it you should be ok. looking at what you wrote and the pictures it would be a pretty good set up for a rotary the t4 hot side should spool up around 1800 - 2000 rpm witch isnt to bad and a compressor that big can get you up to 400-450 with a good tune it might just be worth trying.

I don't know about this one. It looks very similar to the Knockoffs of Ebay. People will buy the SSautocrome turbo's then polish them up and turn around and sell them as GT35r, T04s, 60-1 etc... ALso, most of these combinations of the cheap ones don't have the V-Band attached to the hotside, missing any product markings and are always Oil cooled only.
I could be completely wrong but I'm just hesitant when coming across these turbo's. (Hard for me to tell from pics)
And some of those Mani's can be had for $90

So if its water and oil than its probably the real deal?

But if its oil only that doesn't nescisarily mean its not. Is that correct.

You are correct. I did'nt mean that it's cheap because it's oil cooled. None of the knockoffs that know of have a water inlet, that's all.
Check out this ebay ad. This is what I mean when people turn around and sell it for something else.

And one more. (Same Seller)
