I do not know if that is that is good thing but last time me and friend did that to his HKS manifold, a year later it had cracks all over the runners. I don't think that is a good thing and Corky bell from Cartech told us the samething as it wasn't a good thing. In the end, he had to buy a new one.

The wrapping contains the moist comming from a cooling pipe so that corrosion will occur. Itīs 2008 now so have that coated instead... 
Nicer looks and you donīt get the itch from messing with the wrapping. And if your still worried about heat spreading to your LIM, just have that coated also. Thatīs what Iīll do!
