Sorry to thread hi-jack... Sounds like you don't have a wide band O2 sensor. For not much more than the price of a dyno pull (and a lot less than a 4th motor) you could install an O2 sensor and then you'll be able to track changes as your fuel system goes through them. Over time, I've watched my A/Fs change, without having made changes to the tuning. As my fuel injector spray patterns deteriorate and my fuel filters age, so go my A/Fs. There are so many other factors at play, and I can't imagine having any peace of mind without attention to my A/Fs. BTW, I buy my race gas by the drum, I once got a bad drum, and it was my A/F readings that tipped me off early that something was wrong. If not for that, I would have almost certainly blown my engine. Pardon me if you know all this and maybe there is something I don't know about your situation- Best intentions, here! Other people chime in here if you think I'm right or wrong.

Dave wasn't looking for a map to drive on. Ray will be tuning it with a wideband. Rest asure his car will be tuned perfectly.

I think he might have been directing that at Dan but I could be wrong Ernie.

As for me and mine, yes it will run about as perfect as perfect gets.

Unless I'm looking at it wrong, you guys are missing my point. It's not about how perfectly your car is tuned, it's about the mechanical fuel and boost matters that will eventually begin to either gradually or even suddenly change when you're out on the road. A perfectly tuned car can run well for thousands of miles and say your fuel pump starts to weaken or your fuel filters become clogged or injectors act up or your dog changes your PIM voltage when you're not looking, etc., etc. A/F monitoring AFTER your car is tuned will more than likely help you identify problems before it's too late.

Thannks for chimming in...I actually have an FJO wideband but the o2 sensor isn't reading properly. My buddies have a shop with a dyno that I can use to check the a/f ratio. Eventually I'll replace the o2 sensor and probably sell the FJO, i'd like to get the PLX R-500. Thanks for your concern

Also check out the EFI systems wideband that Ray sells, nice compact unit that mounts nicely on the steering column, they use the 4.0 sensor and not the 4.2.

No one is missing your point. It just seems like common sense to keep an eye on the car and it's functions and to me watching A/F's just falls under the catagory of maintance or upkeep. I assume generally speaking that most people with in this forum do not need to be told that.

That being said thanks for stating the obvious. We hear you.

Thats all well and good and not to get into a pissin match, but your fuel pump does not "weakin". Its either working or its not. And most people don't drive all the time with the head looking at their wideband. Not to mention the wideband sensors go up faster than any of your fuel componets. Yes its a good idea to have one. I have one, but noone is gong to be glued to the a/f meter, boost gauge, fuel pressure gauge, etc....when they are out for a spirited drive or racing.

In anycase sounds good. When did you think you will get it on a dyno?

OK, a pump either runs or it doesn't. However, if you think that I was suggesting anyone be "glued" to the a/f meter, you have me wrong. I look at it "every time" I drive the car, but not "all the time" while driving. No need for you to help me sound like an idiot, I do that well enough on my own.

I wasn't talking to you... I was originally talking to "Scrub", who is apparently on his 3rd motor and about to take his car to a dyno just to get some a/fs.

I'm done hi-jacking your thread now. Later.

did anyone miss my POST!?! I HAVE a wideband but the sensor is not accurate, so for a little more then the price of a new oxygen sensor i can get a whole new unit.
Attached is a picture of my interior just to prove that I indeed have a wideband....

Dave sorry for hijacking your thread....back on topic

Did you get your car dynoed yet?

Hey, guys... I should have just asked instead of lecturing. Sorry abt all the nonsense! I've got a re-tune scheduled for this weekend, and I plan to post some results. Having Mohammad Jaloudi of MZM Performance fly in to tune. I've went from a t-62 to a t-61. He and I did some rough tuning on the hi-way a couple months ago when I changed the turbo, but I just went through the whole fuel system and had the injectors cleaned and balanced and I want to fine tune now on a dyno. Check out my new thread next week and give me hell!

No Dan, I have been wrapped up in other things. The fd has been kind of out of sight out of mind until now.

Anyhow. I spoke with Ray and there were some issues he had to straighten out. All of it was my fault. I swapped the coil plugs on accident and that held things up a bit.
From the way it sounds he should be all set to complete the tuning on the dyno tomorrow.

I'm getting anxious..
