performance loss questions
Set-up:
G-Force ECU for single turbo
62-1 T04B 0.6 comp, 0.86 turb BB CHRA
EGT on rear runner in the exhaust manifold
Stock ported 2mm 13BREW (jspec)
No emissions nor vacuum spider
stock primaries and 950cc secondaries
SX FPR with upgraded dual fuel pumps
Apexi Super AFC for fuel control
MSD 6A ignition amp
Blitz DSBC boost controller
RE Amemiya exhaust (100mm)
Greddy FMIC w/ polished elbow and intake
NGK platinum (7's and 9's)
Racing beat wires
Kaaz 4.10 LSD
Koni height adjustable shocks
Problem:
1) The car is slow even with 10psi or 12psi of boost coming on around 3krpm. My friend's WRX left me behind a few car lengths the other night. It somewhat helped when I leaned out the fuel since I was running about 11 AFR (UEGO wideband sensor) on light throttle. It still is very slow. Am I launching the car at the wrong rpm and shifting too early? I'd imagine that the FD would be very similar to my FC in straight line performance and launching. My FC would pull extremely hard at 15psi and 5krpm+. The FD doesn't hold a candle to it.
*My FC is reserved for a buyer, so I haven't put my Haltech E6K in the FD. I'll get a E6K (or newer Haltech) later when my wallet recuperates (receive full payment on FC).
2) On light throttle (about 19% throttle), it'll sound a little funny (grunt sound) and the EGT will go up. It's about 13mmHg and only happens around 2krpm to 3krpm in all gears. It happens intermittently.
I used zip ties to tighten down the throttle cable fasteners since they are old and worn out. No change.
Changing my throttle points (lo and hi) on the AFC doesn't affect it either.
It could be the MSD 6A since it's old and the wiring is getting old and crusty.
3) During a massive deceleration after boosting 10psi or so, sometimes there is a large puff of oil-odored smoke from the exhaust. It only occurred after I overfilled the engine with 10w-30 oil. I put in almost 3/4 quart extra. DOH! I hope it's related to the oil overflow rather than oil seal grooves going. I figured if it's intermittent, it probably is the oil overflow.
4) After changing out the Kaaz diffy fluid (expensive stuff!), it still chatters a bit around corners at slow acceleration. It is not as bad as before, but it's still there. I've read on the forums about other's experience on tight cornering performance and I'd have to say that I don't trust the diffy. It's a little unpredictable (rear end may wiggle) at times around tight turns after you've downshifted and start to accelerate out of the apex.
Any ideas would be appreciated. I figured with the acculumation of wisdom on the forum, it'll help reduce my debug time.

I've only done WOT with 10psi and 12psi.
Both are about 850C to 900C (depending on environmental conditions).
The UEGO reads low 11's consistently.
Piggy back components are a bad hack.
I need to get the rest of the $ on the FC so I can get a good EMS.

Update
1) I have oil blow-by for sure.
I drained some oil from the pan so that the dip stick read slightly below the F when the engine was warm.
Hopefully, that problem is cured.
2) The grunting sound is also heard with high gear and very low rpm. I'm pretty sure it's not lean (no concern in vacuum anyways). It may be excessive fuel on low rpm or deceleratoin. To be sure, I need to have the injectors checked/cleaned.
3) Duh! My FC had a nice street port and assorted goodies and that's why it pulled so hard with high boost.
However, the FD is still pretty slow.
At higher rpm (4k+) and medium boost (8-10psi), the EGT may read up to 950 - 1050 C. The UEGO doesn't show any major lean conditions, but it's around 11.5.

When I first got my FC (with these shitty maps and dirty timing) the EGT was around 800 C on the highway. I spent the day at the Streets of Willow soon after, and the EGT's were from 900 up to 1150!!! I literally cracked, warped, and melted the mild steel manifold. That is WAY too hot. Fortunatley, I was running 20% Toluene...
With my new maps at first I was running like 450 C on the highway, and I felt that was too cold. I leaned it out to where it was around 600 C highway, and drag racing it hits 700. I bet I could lean it out a bit more and still be safe.?.?
