My HKS wastegate is vented to atmosphere and when i reach my boost setting (12psi) it opens up and i get the sound of sex through the small pipe.

I recently put on the rx7store midpipe to lower the exhaust noise..... before the wastegate opening up, would it make any difference if I route it to the downpipe? I know it will make a huge difference after the wastegate opens, but I wanted to know before it opens up would it make a differnce.... im trying to lower my exhaust noise as much as I can.

there should not be a difference before the wg opens.
