Unhappy No Idle Speed Control

Has any tried to run without their Idle Speed Control? I am trying to install a RE engine in my 93 RX7. If I use the stock REW coil pack the idle speed control from the RE makes contact. Has any run without the ISC? I really wanted to use the whole setup because of the size and shape of the ports and manifold. Does a 20B throttle assy. have the ISC on the bottom or the side?

Kyle ran his large street port T66 turbo engine without the ISC as it did not control his idle very well. He set the idle manually so that the revs were high enough to operate the A/C smoothly. I think it was about 1200rpm.

As Chuck mentioned, I ran no ISC for the past several years and had much improved idle control/quality. Manually set idle at 1000 and experienced no issues with A/C or stalling.

For the PFC would I have to put a resistor across the connector? Does the PFC show error codes? Thanks for the info guys. It sure is nice having so many knowledgable Rotor-Heads around that have had similar problems and are willing to share their experiences.

Just undo the connector. The PFC does not care about missing output controls.
You can even remove the ISC and put on a blocking plate.

You can delete the isc solnoid. The car may not want to hold an idle untill it warms up a bit, but in my opinion it sounds alot better. Other than that I don't think there is any performance benefit other than simplification.
