new turbo manifolds
Almost done, need to remove the temporary brackets and finish the waste gate runner. Let me know what you think. This set-up must be pretty unique. The turbine inlet actualy points up so the manifold curves around the turbo. I am getting close to firing her up...of course it is Labor Day weekend, and I missed the whole summer.

Looks like a fun little project you have going there. I'm assuning the brace you have attaching the engine flange to the v-band clamp is just to locate the clamp while making the manifold and will be taken off when done? Congrats on being original.

you guest right it is a semi pp intake manifold. That was a lot of work. With this bulky intake it gets real tight for the turbo...in particular if you try to fit one this size

Yeah, that would have been the obvious and cheaper way to do it...having the injector block insures that all pieces line up perfectly. The injector holes are 45 degree to the flow and the mounting bracket is perfectly parallel to that. Also this set-up will give me room to improve.....as a winter project, I might replace this block with individual throttle bodies and the upper part of the intake with a sheet metal plenum. As a first try I wanted to keep the staged throttle, hoping for some intake velocity with just the primaries under light load.

Somone correct me if i'm wrong, but shouldn't the injectors be mounted at 20 degrees, or less?

Edit: As far as using the "injector block" to line everything up, as long as the 2 flanges were machined properly, they shouldn't have any issue lining up to each other.
If your looking for velocity, just add a taper in the runners, or use velocity stacks. The main purpose of the dual stage TB is to keep the car from surging. A properly sized plenum and single TB (Main focus is a properly sized TB) will get rid of the surging issues involved with running a single TB. However, the transition from idle-throttle will never be as smooth when using a single TB over the stock dual stage TB. However, with a semi PP engine, a smooth transition from idle-throttle is probably non-existent no matter what TB you use, so ditch the stock TB!
Also, it's hard to tell, but it looks like you don't have any gaskets on either side of the "injector block." I'm guessing you just put the intake manifold together to snap some pictures, and left out the gaskets?
Do you have any pictures of the other side of the intake manifold? (shows the ports) I'd be interested in seeing them.

Schedule 40 aluminum pipe which is fairly thick and heavy but gives plenty of room for grinding and smoothing things out.
321 SS 16 gauuge for the header.
As for the use of the car...
With the big turbo and ports I am shooting for a 1/4 mile car but I hope I can maintain some drivability. Like to drive it on the street just for fun if at all possible. I will let you know how it goes.

Thats pretty sweet. I've never seen a peripheral combined with a stock port setup!! wow!.
I am VERY curious to see if this can make some big numbers. With more airflow than a regular peripheral port this will be interesting.

Will do...PPs are 1 1/4 . I almost think it is a shame to put this manifold in the car where noone can see it and really appreciate its beauty. But wait maybe I can..if it only performs 1/2 as wellas it looks, I'll be very happy.

An old school rotary builder/racer told me that he did his pports himself, I'm wondering if I would be able to.
But I don't know exactly where to put the ports, I know the specs for the MFR ones are out there on the net. Those were for an NA though, I'd like to decrease the overlap for a turbo'd engine.
