New Single Setup, Pretty

MasterPower T60 w/1.00 divided a/r. Thanks to Bobybeach.

I wonder how it'll do at 14psi. And when im ready 22. Should be WAY better than my setup before.

Just gotta get my Pop off and bov flanges welded on, then im good to go. Cant wait!

careful with that heater hose...so close to the turbine. get a blanket on something.

I'd hate to see you lose all your coolant.

Good call, I noticed that as well. I spent way too long figuring out the best routing for my heater hose b/c my 4 inch dp angles back towards the abs and the heater hose fitting on the firewall. Good thing is that it's angled away from my LIM, but I had to use some creativity to get the heater hose to clear the dp, manifold, and turbine

Phat, car is lookin' sharp man

I'd do both. putting a blanket will really help the entire engine bay. I've tried insulating things from my Turbine, but after time they failed. Now my turbine is ceramic coated and the miscellaneous hoses nearby are covered as well. No more problems since.

Nice setup Phat!
Just out of curiousity, and no I don't want to start up any debate but, before this turbo you had the XS-Power turbo on there right? Did you put down any numbers with it? How long did you run it for? Any problems?
I'm only asking you because you seemed to be pretty happy with it and I've seen a Video of your car and it ran very well.

Thanks,
Dan

Weird that this came up, i just finished rerouting my heater hose. I had the stock metal hose running through there but the hot side of my T88 was rubbing on it and almost rubbed through, that would have been a steaming situation. I ended up running new hose down on the bottom pretty much on the sub frame with some Kevlar wrap around the section that is near the manifold.

Oh, and nice looking setup phatman, you're going to be making some power for sure.

I run my hose really low...it's actually a 350Z heater hose, nice bends on it. It's sleeved and covered with braid. Didn't need to clamp it or anything. Only issue I had was removing it from the filler neck drain

Yes i did have the xspower turbo. I never got a chance to dyno the car, but it was pretty quick for just 14psi. The only problem i had with the turbo was the size of the housings. The compressor was a .60 and the turbine was 1.15. This made me spool up around 4000-4500, yet the gains werent as impressive as they could be id assume. And it just looked sooo small for an rx7, its embarrasing! It still did pull hard enough to scare the panties off a few ladies Also, i really never did have a problem with the actual quality of the turbo, it held up after 5,000 miles.

i should be much happier with this new turbo and setup, tho. Ill let you guys know as soon as i get it dynoed for 14. then eventually 20-22psi.

The T60, is that a T04E "60-trim" compressor wheel?

For my heater hose on my t78 FD, I removed the metal section and ran a -12an hose from the firewall directly to the waterpump housing. I had the gotham turbo blanket, so I just ran the hose over top of the turbo and just let it lay between the strut tower and turbo blanket...the t78 almost lays on the strut tower anyway, so it couldn't fall down.

No the compressor spec phat is using is 3.3" T-series T-60 not t04e, small T-series are slightly larger than t04e. The t-60 will flow slightly more than 60trim t04e and will have better effiecency at high boost.

Nice set up Phat! cant wait for some dyno numbers also. I think youl love. I had lots of fun with my t-60 at 1.3bar

Is that what turbonetics calls a "TS04" i.e. 2.300" / 3.304" inducer/major?How does it compare to the tried and true "60-1"?

Almost... the t-60 is one the trim larger. The Turbonetics TS04 is a T-58 compressor, This is basically the same T-series wheel just slightly smaller trim than the t-60 wheel. Masterpower also have the t-58 compressor spec.

When compared with a true super trim 60-1, The t-60 will flow similar lbs/min but will have better efficiency at higher levels of boost since its uses the larger T-series wheel i.e. levels over 1bar the t-60 is more efficient. But the 60-1 will have better boost response over the T-series wheel.

Masterpower do not make the 60-1 wheel. But the new GT37 is very close in spec. It also uses 3" wheel with 60 trim just like the 60-1. The GT37 was just released last year
