New Setup?

Im thinking about buying some new mods from some1 i know who did an ls1 swap. He offered me a 61mm turbo, hks mani, and a hks 40mm wastegate for 1,000$. And also a greddy 2 row fmic for 500$.

First off do you think those are fair prices? And second my current mod list is, i/e pulley kit, pfc + commander, and an 8lb flywheel. What else will i need to run this setup? New fuel injectors, boost controller? Also what type of power can i make out of this setup stock port and a new engine. Thx, sorry if i sound like a noob, but frankly i am :-p -Eric

Not a bad price if in good condition. I would suggest 1300cc secondary injectors if going with a low psi (12-14psi). High psi(14-17) I would go with 850cc primary and 1300cc secondary with a good tune. Anything above 18 psi I would go with 1600cc secondays atleast. With water injection + acly you can run less fuel.

just my 2 cents

You need a rad, clutch, fuel pump, fuel injectors (just get some 1600 sec's, that way if you need more later you can just put your old 850's in the primary),boost controller, if price is a concern get a manual boost controller. Also get some good tuning..

Did you ever get your car running right? You need to do that FIRST.

Good. Price on the Front mount, mani and wastegate seem good. Mani is in good condition? No cracks? Actual HKS not an ebay knock off? Always be careful on the turbo itself, almost always better to get a new one. I would take the other things, then buy yourself a nice new turbo. Goodluck.

He said the mani is a clone and he had it decked and re-welded. As for the fmic i will need a different hotpipe because its made for twin turbos, not really sure what the hotpipe is, how do i go about getting a new one?

Dont get the manifold. I am almost 100% sure he did not have it re-welded and checked. This is now turning toward a rip-off. It is likely a shitty manifold if it is a clone. Further, the wastegate is likely also a clone, but some people say they work fine. Hot pipe is one of the pipes that connect to the intercooler. That is pretty easy, you get a fab shop to make it for 100$ or less.

you shouldnt assume stuff man. The manifold was decked and welded, the wastegate is real.. its a real 61mm from garret. i'm not trying to rip eric off.
