New Engine + Old Turbos = ?

I blew an apex seal into my front rotor and killed my engine, and now it's being rebuild with all new parts from mazdacomp except the rear rotor, ie new housings, eccentric shaft etc. My turbo's have a cracked manifold and are too bad to be re-used according my mechanic. I have a set of twins off my other R1 with 55K miles on them, I don't know what condition they are in.
Could bad/cracked/worn turbo's hurt my new engine? I've heard of the opposite, bad engines tossing an apex seal into the turbine blades and killing the turbo, is the reverse also true? Should I just get a T04S and not worry about it? :-) Thanx!

Why can't the person installing the engine look at your turbo to see if it's okay? If the turbine spins fine, the bearing has no play, it should be okay. You may want to clean it to remove any built-up on the blade.

If it ever breaks in the future, you'll pay more to have it fixed bc you'll have to take it out again.
