Need help with temporary Ghetto fix
So, my FD has been plagued by horrible compressor surge since 2008.
the turbo is some hybrid ebayish T61 knock off ( T61 TURBO" garrett internals with t4 flange, 4" inch intake and 2.5" inch outlet . turbo has an a/r of 68 and a compressor wheel and trim of 68mm plus mates up with a .84 rear turbo housing )
it has worked well, producing 400hp at 15psi, it comes online pretty hard (full boost at 4k)
but the problem is the surge, it drives me mad. if i floor it below 4k, it surges its *** of, same goes for any kind of partial throttle.
i will be swapping the turbo out next year for either the GT4082 i have on my living room table, or a a GTX37.
What i wanna do now is fix/improve on my current setup just to get me through this season.
i haven't found any anti surge covers for this turbo (since im not 100% sure of what its a knockoff off) so what im thinking of is a DIY anitisurge. i have access to a metal shop at work, so i can get the work done properly. something in the lines of the ones in the picture.
is this an easy job? will it work properly? (is there anyone that ports shrouds for a pretty penny? )
any help is appreciated

just dont care.

just measure your compressor wheel inducer/exducer (and probably more things that i'm not aware of) and buy an anti-surge housing for that compressor wheel...
i would assume it's a pretty standard cast T4 compressor wheel. someone's gotta make a housing for it.
no?
also, it wouldnt be as easy as drilling holes for air to re-route. my anti-surge housing (precision, looks like the first one you posted) seems to have a pretty delicate slope where the air goes around, near the bottom of the holes. the air comes back in where that "ring" is, down at the bottom of the inlet in that first picture.
