Need Help with Mods

Hi Guys,

I am new to your forum. My name is Quintin and I am from South Africa. I currently own a 900hp R34 GTR and decided to enter the wonderful world of the RX7.

I was in Japan a month ago and bought a 96 FD3S RX7 which belonged to a businessman who used the car only on the circuit and it currently holds the lap record at Suzuka in his club. Mods include Trust TD06-25G, Apexi PowerFC, Trust Racing Intercooler, Cusco LSD, OS Giken Twin Plate, All the handling and suspension has been completey replaced with aftermarket parts and car does 450hp on the flywheel.

I have a few questions as my knowledge is great with skylines but limited to RX's.

1) Which plugs are best for the car? I want to fit either Blitz 10.5s Plugs all round or Greddy 10.5s all round.

2) Which oil is best? I was going to run Castrol RS 10w-60 Full Synthetic.

3) Is an oil catch tank really all that worth it, I read alot of guys have them over flowing?

Other than that, really looking forward to it arriving

Thanks for all the help

Quintin

NGK R6725-105 plugs but they require a thin wall socket.

No best oil but synthetic is good, but 10-60 is too thick, 5-30 for street is normal.
You need the responce of some of our road racers on this forum.

There is a lot of blow-by with rotory engines and in hard right hand cornering oil will tend to come up the oil filler neck. Yes you need a catch can. I need it just for street driving.

Thanks for the info cewrx7r1.

I should mention that I am using the Rex for 95% hard circuit use and it will be driven hard, if that makes any difference with the engine oil viscocity choice.

Cheers
Quintin
