My t78 should be here today

Hey guys,
I've been following the threads here for a over a year now, but mostly kept quite in the back ground. Monday I finally decided to order a T78 kit. I guess I'm going to be one of the boring regulars without the "chrome *****". jk heh

I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions regaurding tuning once I install the kit and my fuel system. In the meantime, I have a few other questions to start off.....

Does the wastegate vent to the atmosphere or plum back into the downpipe?

I want to replace the foam filter supplied in the kit. I need a filter with a four inch opening... correct?

Does the t78 kit come with a blow off valve? (I'm thinking it doesn't)

What type of intercooler are most of you running? Stock mounts or front mounts? I currently have a Pettit Cool Charge III stock mount (aka M2 Large).

Hopefully the kit will show up today and I'll have a new center piece on the coffee table untill all the rest of my parts show up.

Also, a friend of mine ordered a t88 for his supra. It should be here today also. Hopefully I have enough time to take some side by side pics if anyone is interested.

Vents to air

I want to replace the foam filter supplied in the kit. I need a filter with a four inch opening... correct?

Screen looks meaner. I think it's 4inchs...you measure it when it shows up

Does the t78 kit come with a blow off valve? (I'm thinking it doesn't)

Nope, what kit does?!

What type of intercooler are most of you running? Stock mounts or front mounts? I currently have a Pettit Cool Charge III stock mount (aka M2 Large).

Does ANYONE run something other than a FMIC with a T78?

Hopefully the kit will show up today and I'll have a new center piece on the coffee table untill all the rest of my parts show up.

Nocab72 has the single with the screen. Filter? Nah. But it does keep small animals and objects from being sucked into the intake!!! Personally, I'd pick up a K&N at Jegs or Summit that will strap on. But the screen is mean!

Nocab, I'll ask forgiveness for posting this pic for you. It's too nice...

I believe the credit goes to ASpec for the "style!"

Yea. That ought to keep the squirrel's out, but I live in florida so I'm a little concerned about sand. I'll probably pick up a k&n filter. heh

If you go to K&N's web site, they have a complete listing of all their filters. You'll need a 4" ID filter. I "believe'' the one I ordered was over 6" wide at the base and about 6" long. I have the part number and a great place to order it at home. I'll post the info later when I return from work.

Oh the WG dump does not route back into the DP. You may want to have this done before installing it. I'll take a few images this evening if I have time of what I did.

Ok, sorry for the late reply, the filter I ordered was K&N #RC-5060 and I ordered it from http://www.4wheelparts.com for $45 with free shipping. They stock virtually the entire K&N line and you can simply type in the Part number and it will come up. Customer service is excellent as well.

Here's a shot of the MP with a Borla XR1 installed. U-bolt clamps are currently holding it together until I position it right. Then everything will be welded up.

I'd go to K&N's site first to get the part number you're looking for. Click on universal filters and then choose the style you're looking for. The PN I posted is for a round tapered cone filter, center outlet. There are hundreds of choices. Once the PN is figured out, go to "vendors" on the K&N site and click on 4wheel parts.com. It'll take you to the part number search page automatically. Type in the K&N part number and whammo, there's your filter! These guys actually called me on SUNDAY to double check and confirm my order. I also had a day's response time on an email inquiry. They're on the ball there.
