Wether it's Rich or not, you NEED to get this car to a reputable SINGLE shop, who can take care of all issues properly. What you've experienced so far is unacceptable.

For all the money you've spend, just have the thing trucked to Gotham... not just the motor, the whole car. Part of the problem I think is that you've got more than one chef in the kitchen.

But, if you're getting zero compression on all three rotor faces, then you wont really know the damage until you open up the motor.

If you want to pull the motor yourself and send it to me, I can build it for you for a reduced price and get you on the road for a helluva lot cheaper than the prices you're quoting. I feel bad for all the bullshit you've went through, thus my offer. PM me if interested .
Thanks Bro

^ I haven't got a chance to crack the block open. If it's not too bad I will try myself. If it's destroyed from broken Apex seals then I may ship to Gotham.

Ok need help removing the turbo. I have removed the compressor housing but I still can not reach the top/right nut (towards front bumper/hood). There is no way to reach the bolts for the exhaust housing. I have a slim mini wrench and it won't fit. I can't get the angle with open wrenches. Some are blocked with the water fittings. This is supposed to be "easier" then the twins!

ya, I decided the way to remove the turbo will be to first remove the engine. that bolt right there, plus the clearance issue just makes it a bit too hard for my taste. then again I'm going to have a more bare block motor than you so it'll be quicker for me.

I did get one of those stubby wrenches to get in there though. it worked but barely. had to use the boxed end (which has a bit of an angle) comming at it from all sides. I think pulling my motor might actually be faster than dealing with it, and less stressfull.

I can't access the turbine bolts. may try buying some flexi ratchets but it may round the heads.

I thought I had it off but it seems like the stud is snapped and the threads are stripped. Can get any further tonight. I'm so fed up with this setup. Will have to take the bike out for a spin.

ok need help seperating the block from the trans. I can't reember how I did it last (three?) times. Trans fork is unlocked and ring is pushed in. I'm not sure if a screwdriver will fit. I tried rocking them but no luck that way.

That's what I did different this time. I still have the clutch slave bolted in the trans but it's inbolted from the block. I figured that way I wouldn't have to bleed. I can try disconecting it tomorrow.

BTW: If anyone wants to trade my 500R w/1.06 & polshied comp for a "new" GT35R w/.85 A/R heat coated and heat coated and/or polished compressor, let me know.

Looks like it's going to be bad again but will know for sure this weekend. Thanks to AcidAngel7477 for helping me today!

I am looking to trade my T4 500R 1.06 A/R (slightly used) turbo with polished turbine and compressor snails (turbine not pretty since its mild steel) for a new T4 GT35R turbo with heat coated turbine snail and/or polished compressor snail and .85 A/R.

^ yes, I could do that but don't have the $300 right now and since my plans changed I won't be running 20lbs rather 15lbs and higher compression. It is a waste for the 500R upgrade at 15lbs, so maybe some one could take advantage that couldn't afford the upgrade.

Opened the block today: (sorry no pics cam phone broke and canon not returned)

Chipped apex seal and flatened corner seal (same as last time and both going at about 1500 miles).

This time wasn't as bad allthough it would have been cheaper if I rebuilt it when compression dropped below 80 at 1k miles.

Irons are all suprisingly good.
Ruined front rotor
Ruined front rotor housing
center iron is not ported. it should have been.
viton water o-rings are reusable. oil o-rings are not.

I have two choices:
1. replace front rotor, housing, springs, seals, etc and slap it back together.
2. sell rear rotor and e-shaft. install new RX8 e-shaft and rotors, seals, etc.

Can some one tell me which rotor housings I have since both have the hole for the knock sensor?

Has anyone "succesfully" tried RX-8 rotors in a pre RX-8 block? Mazdacomp told me I would have problems with the sides. There is a significant preice diffrerence to consider it. I know there is a slight modification to the e-shaft.

well time to start figuring out what to do. since my car has only worked for a few months every year and a new engine per year cost more then a 2009 ZR1 Corvette. So I will have to consider if i'm like a stupid gambler thinking he can win back his losses in Vegas.

* Rebuild motor and continue with GT500R
...use current rotor and eccentric shaft.
...use new rotors and racing eccentric shaft balanced and clearanced
...keep small street port
...Judg Ito or KDC monstor race port
* Build custom twin Tail GT25 turbos in parallel with dual exhaust
* Switch to N/A 3-Rotor keeping A/C
* Corvette LS3 swap
* Drive over it with my truck, **** on it, kick it and set it on fire then roast marshmallow's over it, then run it over again and again.

Leave it as it is.
Get someone to build the motor right.
Get a set of Good Cond FD rotors. Get 2 brand new housings.

Get some good apex seals. NRS(if you can afford) other wise go with SCR seals.
And i know its expensive but pay for a good reputable tuner to fly over and tune the ****** for you.

You have spent alot of money, in all the wrong places. Also get the engine dowelled, make sure they put new bearings, new oil pump etc. its not rocket science.
Having your centre plate not ported is a good thing. Only part of the engine they didnt butcher.

Or another option.
Buy a Crate motor. If you want to do it right, find a good shop that has a good rep, and just tell them i want a crate race motor with all the goodies and all new.
