My R85 is ready to ship!
I think I was one of the first to order an R85 turbo kit (http://kgparts.com/R85.htm) and I just got notice that it will ship on Monday. Woo hoo! I am not sure how many kits are done, so it's possible that there will still be a wait before other kits start shipping, but I figured that anyone who has ordered one of these kits (or is thinking about it) would be interested to hear that at least one is ready to ship.
I've still got a bunch of other work to do to get my car together (it's getting a new engine and a bunch of other stuff in addition to the new turbo), but I am hoping that I can have it running by SevenStock. It probably won't be tuned in time for the event, but at least I should be able putz it down there if anyone wants to see what it looks like in person.

R85 is the vendor's name for the kit, not a turbo spec. You can get the kit from Reactive Racing / KG Parts: http://www.kgparts.com/R85.htm
And even if you have visited that page before, take another look! They've got pics of the whole kit up there now. I am so excited to get mine, I feel like a kid at Christmas!

I requested that mine be routed into the downpipe, but I agree the kit in the pic looks like it dumps to atmosphere. My car is too loud already (and cops are muffler-ticket crazy around here), so I can't have it dumping to atmosphere.

allrotor, do you know if any dumptube-to-downpipe kits have been produced? I'm really hoping mine doesn't show up with a vented dump tube. The kit looks great; when do you expect to have your car back on the road?

According to Dee they come standard vented to the atomsphere. He did say, however, that everything is included to route back to the downpipe. I sure hope this is the case, as I would be waaaaaay tooo loud for the street otherwise. Anyways, my guess is, a muffler shop would be able to weld everything in very cheaply once the kit is fitted.
