So yeah I kinda inherited this manifold, all it needed was for the exhaust flange to be milled down evenly for a mere $75. I already have 2 Tial 38mm wastegates here, just awaiting my 3.5in v-band set and piping. I have a few things to do to get this up and working. lemme know what you guys think of the manifold. BTW its a Master Power GT45 Series 4 13BT Full Bridged.

Yeah I have the 8.5:1 rotors. Im hoping to have some new numbers by the end of January or beginning of February

Is that turbo BB? How much did it cost? I'm switching to a similar setup soon, except with a half bridge. I'd love to see how that sumbitch spools.

 

I hoping its a night and day difference compared to the HKS log. I believe it manifold was about 1k for construct. The earlier the boost, the better. I'm going to prep the engine for 9k+ rpm. yummay.

 

It is not BB but, from what I hear there is one in the making if not coming out really soon. I paid around $750 for it.

That was new. I just sold my HKS mani last week.

 

Yep, if an exhaust manifold is designed correctly, it will definitely be a night and day difference when comparing to the log manifolds. Considering mine spools really fast and Im on a 1.32 exhaust housing, I'll never run anything else but a correct manifold from here on out. You get the best of both worlds, spool and big power up top!

Dual Wategates are nice, better boost response and control when comparing to one big Wastegate. Especially on Big Turbo setups.

The car isn't running yet, probably not for another month or two. With Christmas I have no monies to spend on it so, I have to wait. I have driven it with the turbo though, BDC has the T-70 now. I don't think he will sell. He is going to install that beast and see what its really got!

No it is larger.

Somewhat of a larger inducer wheel and especially turbine. I believe its slightly larger than Q-trim.

 

huh??? According to the measurements you just gave, it has a smaller compressor inducer and larger compressor exducer. Turbine wise, yes larger inducer and exducer. From the sounds of it, you don't know what these terms mean.

Theres two portions to a wheel, be it a compressor wheel or turbine wheel. The compressor (which is NOT referred to as a "inducer wheel") has the inducer or smaller aka: minor wheel diameter. This is what you see when you look into the intake of a turbo. Its called the inducer because this is were the air is "introduced" into the wheel. The larger portion of the compressor inside the comp over is the exducer. This is aka: the major wheel diameter. This is were the air leaves the wheel or is "exduced' (is that even a real word?). The turbine wheel though similar is the opposite. The larger portion of the wheel (major diameter) is called the inducer, this is were gases are introduced into the wheel, and the smaller portion of the wheel (minor diameter) the gas leave.

Compressor inducer is a good indication of how much the wheel can flow or power potentual, although theres other factors as well, like compresor exducer too. The larger inducer the more power/ more air the compressor flow potentual the compressor has. The larger the compressor exducer, the more efficient the compressor will more likely be at higher boost ratios. So without even looking at a flow map for rither turbo, I'd say the t70 flows higher numbers at lower boost, while the GT45 has much higher effiency at higher boost levels. this is just a guess, as theres still other factors like blade count, thickness, back sweep, etc etc. If the t70 is a older less efficient design then the GT45 though smaller inducer may just well flow as much (I'm also guessing the "GT" means newer more effcient design as it does with Garretts' line of turbos).

BTW, MASTERPOWER's turbo names/labels do NOT correspond, correlate to Garretts.

A funny thing I've seen develope, some of the Chinese or Brazilian turbo's had a typo on spec sheets. Instead of MAJOR diameter it was listed as MAYOR. LMFAO, this "lost in translation" or "engrish" I've seen used by English speakers who try to be turbo experts. It’s MAJOR, not MAYOR. You know, Major as in greater in size, extent, or importance: the major part of the town (larger portion of the wheel). And the opposite for MINOR (smaller, duh!).

Well I did write that at 1am last nite. I think I have that backwards I dont think i was all there. I do know what Im talking about though mike. I got that info second hand, I havent measured the wheel personally yet. which I may today. It didnt really click when I saw that that inducer was smaller than the t70 but i figured the info was reliable..i duno ill check
