My engine had Detonation, and blown /T78-33d Setup

Hello guys, well i've bought a Fd3s from Japan, and it comes with blown engine...i've changed the engine to another, (this goes for 2 years ) and now, after 50km of "driving" i've got another Detonation and my rear rotor blows up i think...

I have a t78-33d setup , with all greddy accesories..intercooler , intake, and all
I have a Modified ECU, by Jam Motors..
Blitz dual boost control, i have a FPR that i dont remember name, but it's very usually in Fd.

I have to say that i'm very disapointed with "rotarys" at the moment, but i think that the guy who sold me the second engine, sold it to me with bad intentions..i dont know how to explain it on english. I should do compression test, but i've didnt, so it's my bad because of bad buisness. I've paid for it 1000$ so it's not so bad.

At least, i'm thinking on Rebuild by myself the engine with Rotary Aviation , and Ra super seals.

I want to avoid more detonations, so i think that i have to install some aquamist system, can you give me a suggestion about which one i should use?

I think that i should buy a PowerFC and tune ECU propely to my setup, but i dont have expirience, and i dont know if this is "very hard" or it can be done with some patient.

Could you give me a advice, of what i should do and tune properly, to Avoid detonations at max %? im tired from this xD

Feel free to suggest me all that you think!

Thank you very much

Use genuine internals in your new engine.

Buy a stand alone engine management system.

How much boost are you using?

My guess is that your "tuned" ecu was either a bad tune, or your setup has changed since the initial tune.?

I went with a Powerfc, which is a stand alone ecu (it is a full replacement, and does not work in conjunction with the oem ecu) that is mostly plug and play. However, I would seek a professional tuner and see what he recommends. If he doesn't know how to use the tuning software for the ecu you choose without him/her, then you might get a crappy tune.

if you have stock injectors on your car then that is probably what keeps taking out your motors. if they are upgraded then that ecu has a bad tune in it. i would suggest using RA super seals or ALS seals in your engine. you will also need a stand alone ecu, power fc would work well and you would need upgraded secondary injectors with a t78 turbo i would say 1600's would suit you well. this would get you safe to run 15-16psi on pump fuel and keep the motor together. the tune is the most important part at keeping these motors together so you should look into having the map tuned. do you have a rotary tuner in spain ?

Basicly if it's a Japan ECU you got it's most likely tuned on 100 Octane Japan Fuel. Wich is similar to the old Shell 100 VPower but not identical. Ive done the same mistake along time ago when i got my RHD from japan with a Re-Amemiya ECU that was tuned for 100 octane and all i had was 98 octane.

OP: Read up on tuning your engine, get a standalone ECU like a Vipec/Link or something. Upgrade injectors as the old ones might be failing.

If you got the money, take it to the UK and have it fixed there. I got a good freind that runs WGT Autodevelopemts in Middlewich, wich is close to Manchester. He's probably the best rotary tuner in Europe.

If not then use this forum for what it's worth. And you need to get the engine tuned for European fuel.

Solution is obvious, engine needs to be tuned properly for it not to detonate? PowerFC is the best option for you. It's easy to use and there is tons of support for it here on the forums.
