My EGT gauge is peaked!!!

I was driving the car last night and after awhile, I noticed that my Greddy EGT gauge was peaked out past the max reading on the gauge.

My engine temp was normal so when I got home I checked the wiring and everything looks ok. I disconnected the gauge from it's wiring harnesses and the needle is still at the max level. Its just a 52mm electronic gauge. There is no peak hold function on this gauge. Is it broken or is there a way to reset it? Maybe even a problem with the sensor???

Anyone experience this before?

sounds like a short somewhere, they work of resistance like any other gauge.
