Mounted oil catch can/tank pics?

I have oil leaking after shutdown and the whole underside of the car is coated. I have a breather filter instead of a return to the extension manifold for unknown reason. My mechanic doesn't remember doing it or why. Anyhow, i'm now being told to use a oil catch tank because two shops beleive this is the cause of the oil spillage since i'm single turbo. I only see drops when I shut it off but by morning there is a puddle.

So I looked at the Greddy which is very large and I don't think it would be easy to find a space for it. I am thinking of getting the Custco which holds .6L but none of them have a release valve that I can see. How do you empty them? Can you guys post pics of where you mounted yours?

i have the same problem my oil is leaking out of the nipple pointing down from the oil filler neck. put a vac line on that and run it to a soda bottle or something and drive around for a couple days... see if it fills up slowly like mine did.
im looking into doing a catch can aswell but im wondering how the oil makes it back into the engine or pan. hopefully you can get us both answers.

^ So you did not have the filler neck line routed back to the UIM like stock?

Oil doesn't make it back to the pan from the catch tank, you have to empty it. The only problem is there is no cap on top nor any kind of valve on the bottom, so I have no idea how it gets emptied.

^ So how is that mounted? Looks like the studs for the PS & A/C mounting bracket. Are there engrish instructions that show you how and where to connect the lines? Very clean setup btw.

Excessive blowbye will cause excessive oil to be passed through your " crank " case vents. You most definitely don't want this going into your intake tract. Oil burning will cause hotspots and lead to detonation. Anyhow JAZ sells catch cans with drains...

i still have it routed to the uim. the top port off the oil filler neck (horizontal) is connected to the uim with the pcv between the two. im talking about the port facing down on the filler neck. that is the one that leaks oil for me.

if not for dubulup i would still be making smoke shows behind me as i had the pcv in backwards! hes simply brilliant!!!

The link in this thread from reagan rotary racing is really a great way to set up your catch can. Tap the top of your cap and plug the other two ports on the side of the filler neck. This way you actually minimize the amount of oil that drains into the catch can.

He said it didn't fix the problem and I really don't like that setup. He also tried an additional baffle plate but the tank still fills up.

Is there any reason why the line can't be plumbed back to the block? I could leave the PCV connected to the extension manifold to releive pressure. The bottom nipple on the oil filler neck to one of the ports on the catch tank and then the other port T'ing in to the oil line from oil cooler to oil filter/block.
