I try to avoid listing the total of my single conversion, it makes me ill I spent so much. Like alot of people I had no idea all the small things required to do it right. Add to that the majority of hoses and my wire harness needed replaced.

And it doesnt end there... its great to have power but dont forget you still need to stop and turn. Brakes, motor mounts, and a good suspenshion are all needed if you want to go single. If you dont address that stuff first , the car will just be fast but no fun to drive.
Trust me, the way the car looks and the condition its in... the price I paid... I could easily break even at this point. It has 9k into the paint, and a full molded body kit. Car looks beautiful, needs some minor work on front bumper... and it has Racing Hart 18" C2 3 Peice original wheels =) It's not that hard... plus I rarely pay cost for parts. You find an authentic GT35r Kit with Ceramic Coated exhaust side and ceramic coated manifold, wastegate, lines, and a mint Apex GT Intercooler for $2200 (Thanks Charlie) =)

It's tasteful as well, but all in all.. when I am done it'll be hard to break even. I figure I'll be 18k into it with everything, and getting that for an FD (even one as nice as the one I am putting together) is difficult. Look at Lupe, his car is beautiful and nobody would pay his asking price.

Yeah suspension is a big deal... I already had that on there as well. Hoses and wiring harness are a big part of it... no use in doing everything nice if you have a crapass harness.

Dhahlen, i would recomend spending the cash to get a new harness.. thats what i am going to do when my motor is done getting ported and car gets back from paint. i figure why risk a used harness that can spark up and ruin your "goodies" you just spent 5 grand (or more) on..?

but yes.. even if you took your car to a body shop and had it ground up re placed and you have a fully ported motor with a single turbo set up pushing 450rwhp you still wont make money on it.
if you want to make money up grading cars, go buy hondas. there are stupid ricers that will pay 3,000 over book value for a car that only has lambo doors..
the way i see it.. if your gonna build a fd up or any rx7 for that matter; then do it because you plan on keeping if forever..

Yeah, problem is.. I had a new harness. Then I went to haltec, sold the new harness with like 500 miles on it, already setup for single, all other connectors weather stripped and taped up. Heat wrapped too. I paid $680 for it now they are $750 via malloy. Then I got another FD... lol. So now I gotta buy another =/
