Max psi for this turbo and set up

I was just wondering if you guys could guestimate what a safe boost limit would be
i'm hopin for around 15-17psi...is that just crazyness?

the engine is an S5 TII built by tom's racing
it has been built up ...i'm not sure if theres a port job yet
it has 2 550cc injectors on the UIM and 2 in the IC piping altogether at 80% thats enough for 510hp at the crank so fuel won't be a problem
emissions removed
old school greddy fmic kit

the turbo
i'm thinking its some kind of hybrid
the coldside is a Garrett A/R 60 with 3" inlet and 2" outlet
oil cooled center
the hotside doesn't have any markings on it

i'm goin to be running a 3" turbo back single exhast with a high flow cat

i'm just looking for a safe boost number to set my goals for

Its safe to say that around 15psi would be the peak effciency of a turbo that size. Without a compresor map, which I doubt you'll fine for it, you're kind of just taking shots in the dark though. The ideal way to find its peak would be on the dyno - so keep that in mind.

What are you running for engine management? Hopefully you're able to keep an eye on intake temps/egts if you plan on trying anything much past 15psi...want to make sure the turbos not turning into a heat-gun at that point.

i'm not goin to build any boost till i get a EGT guage,WB o2,SAFC (fine tuning)

I was wondering if there was a set up for AIT's with out needing a standalone

having those extra injectors will also help to cool the IAT's plus add a better airfuel mixture...i'm goin to use a rebic and set the 2 in the intercooler piping for 5psi and up

i'm using the N374 tom's racing ecu thats tuned for my engine and set up

Its a T04E hybrid. Which trim t04E I don't know unless you pull the turbo front cover off and measure. Strange it has a Garrett CHRA or center section. I'm wondering if its running a t4 sized turbine wheel also?? If it is its a well built hybrid. 15 is at the upper limits I'd persoanlly run with a stock turbine housing even if it had a larger turbine stuffed in it. 12~15 would be safe granted all other peramiters are in check (fuel system (Which BY THE WAY INCLUDES YOUR PUMP, not just a lot of injectors) timing etc.

thanks guys!

can i take the front cover off the turbo and put it back on with out messing anything up (gaskets, balance)

i was thinking of getting the holley 255lph fuel pump and doing the fuel pump mod
theres to many knock off's of walbro's on the internet you have to cross your fingers and hope you get a good one....holley's been around in the performance business for a long time its only $20 more than i would pay for a walbro from jegs

If you buy a walbro from a reputable source you shouldn't have any issues. I run a rotary performance fuel pump with a kenne bell boost-a-pump though FYI.

Yes you can remove the compressor cover and re-install it without messing anything up, just torque the bolts evenly after.

Measure the outter most part of the compressor (Exducer) what would be hidden by the cover and measure the inner portion (Inducer) which you'd see when looking at the inlet of the turbo. It must be precision measured, with calipers or mic. When you get thoe measurements, then it can be refferanced to a compressor wheel chart by me or others in here. I'd take the turbine housing off as well to see what turbine its running, but you don't have too.
