i would have posted this in the performance section but lack of traffic flow,lately.
to all thats making around 450 rwhp. Hoe are you guys launching?? What rpms are you luanching at on slicks??? When the tree drops, and your comming out of the hole, are you turning the boost up after the 60 ft or what?? I was just curius of how strong the drivetrain is thats all.

no my diff will be a kaaz 1.5, and also 300m axcels. My new car is going to have t-78 so I dont want to look stupid at the track. Should U luanch arounf 5500 rpms wait till after 60ft and hit the boost?? I need as much POSITIVE advice as possible. Tell me if this sounds about right. 5500 rpms@13 psi dump the clutch after 60ft then high boost?? I have had experience with high hp fd's just not at the track.
Start off at 7000rpm.
Rev and dump.
Does the car bog?
If yes, raise RPM to 7500rpm. If no, launch at 7000rpm.
Rev and dump @ 7500rpm

what about the boost?? Keep it at the same boost pressure as I would going accross the finish line?? IS 7000 rpms a 50/50 cjance of braking rear end(kaaz 1.5, 300m axcels)?? btw Have you ever kicked the car side ways after 60ft. I dont want to slid into the wall. I really hope the kaaz 1.5 will keep me in a striaght line. fill me in bros. I so glad that you guys are responding, thank you.

What about boost?
If you are worried your **** end is going to fail, get a stronger one if you want to go drag racing!
My car launches both wheels up and a little to the right, so the car is sideways from the get go. If you are worried about controlling your car sideways, you shouldn't be on the track if you can't drive out of it or know when to back off and save your car and yourself.

If you've never driven on a ET Street or a full slick I would not even try to launch hard on your first pass. I'd get a feel for the car at higher speeds first with a bais-ply tire. You want to launch as hard as you can without breaking anything or "shocking the tires" too hard. Every car is going to be a little different. Weight, power, suspension, tires, clutch, flywheel,and your alignment are just a few factors that have to taken into consideration. Hope this helps.

Nocab runs a Gt35/40 that I would guess to be in the low 400's RWHP. I run stock twins at around 377 RWHP. One day at the track and a dozen runs does not make me an expert. I did try dumping at different RPM's and agree that you're going to have to find your sweet spot. I was getting close at near 6000 RRPM dump with the Et Streets, and modulating the gas pedal for traction.

People are using the Kazz mostly because it's stronger. The stock diff. won't take much wheel hop before breaking. Your car should launch pretty straight if everything is setup correctly. If you car is going for the wall every time you launch, switching from the stock diff. to a Kazz isn't going to change anything. Assuming your stock torsen is working correctly.

forcefed7, are you using the kaaz 1.5 way??if the kaaz doesnt, then what does??? Why do people use it for road racing ect..?? Does anybody know of a positive traction unit or anything for a 3rd gen ?? I want something that will help me go in striaght.
Are you worried about you car breaking loose after the 60ft mark on slicks? At the power levels you are talking about you shouldn't have a problem with traction. Very unlikely you are going to break the tires loose in second gear. Just take it easy on your first pass, and get a feel for the car.

. It will be while before I will run that kinda boost. i want to do things right the first time. Im still learning about ignition and spark plugs and also race gas(thanks to ErnieT)
