launching with boost?

For the correct setup, youd need to line lock the front to be able to preload the drivetrain. Similar to a water skier taking out the slack in the rope. None of this is easy to do and requires alot of driver timing. As far as launching under boost, id drop the trailing and retard the leading about 20deg from 0 then add extra fuel. You bring the trailing back on after the front end sets down. Or just throw the 5spd away and get a glide w/brake.

I had succesfully done this as well, though on my Microtech Lt8. As stated by enzo250, building boost on a rev limiter usually entails retarding timing enough so that fuel is dumped into the exhaust.
If anything, I would think it hurts the turbo much more than the motor.

I don't have a 2 step. I'm able to get like 5 lbs of boost just by bouncing it off the rev limiter (8100). I launch like this and able to pull 1.557 so far. I don't see this hurting the motor AT ALL!

The haltech has a preload setting that sounds like backfiring and it spools up your T but its hard on the turbine.
If you dont have anything I did figure something out by accident but it does work and I have video....other forum.....
I noticed when I just reved the motor on the line and sat at particular rpm the boost would fall to vacume once the motor caught up. As I sat in the car I hit the throttle and noticed that the boost was going to 0 then back down. Well I heated my streets real good..bogged at a street setting RPM of 4,000 comming off the line.Next time at 5,000 still bogged(Just sitting at a RPM).**** we have no torque and HP! Well I started to rev the motor and time it with the lights so as the T is spooling up and then dump the clutch and the boost is under load and it goes! ( I keep it floored)My street tires with 235 profile I get a 1.78 60ft at a 5500 RPM launch and no spin. Other wise..... you can slip the hell out the clutch to offset the higher RPM till the torque load comes on.Many times this can spin the tires off the line and your lose the 60ft.

I went 1.69 60' on some ET streets leaving around 6K rpms by slipping the clutch, but I'm wanting boost (17+ psi) at the line. I don't know how much boost I built by using the technique I just mentioned, but it wasn't much.
The Power FC Datalogit software has an antilag built in on it, but I can't find anyone that knows how it works to explain it - or maybe no one wants to tell others how to do it. I've even asked on the Datalogit forum, but no help found there either.

I believe 1.4x is obtainable on an ET street, but a slick would definitely get him there.
