Lack of FC exhaust manifolds

Im trying to find someplace that sells decent exhaust manifolds for FCs. Preferably a nice cast, but Ill shell out for a tubular if I have too. The flange needs to be t04, and hks standard wastegate flange. I know of HKS and SR motorsports, but it seems the HKS manifold is on backorder everywhere, I dont belive the cheap SR($430) manifold has an external wastegate flange, and the expensive SR($700) cast manifold has a Tial wastegate flange.

Does anyone know of any others? It seems most places only make manifolds to fit FDs.

If anyone has one their selling Id be very interested.

If I could pre sell ~6 manifolds, I would build the ultimate. Cost would be ~550.00-600.00 I would use SS steam pipe,12-14" long runner, choice of WG flanges, dump would be up to the end user to deal with, WG runners would be same size as main runners, with an angle of incidence of less than 60*. Turbo would be low, and foward (does make a CAI a challenge, but reduces clearance problems). Problem is everytime someone offers to do this all the interest disappears. So, how many Fc guys would pay ~ that kinda price for an equal length long runner SS tubular manifold? I am not a shop, so I would have it proffesionally TIG'd, and wish you all luck(as opposed to a warranty). I would reinforce the weight carrying portions. Carl

buy a cheap OBX manifold and have it rewelded for $75.

thats what I did.

uses a divided to4 turbo and standard or racing HKS wastegate.

But in my case, its a TII motor in a first gen.

I would definatly be willing to pay $600 for a new ss manifold, but I really need it in under two weeks if at all possible

Stainless is not a good material for exhaust manifolds.
SS. has a very hi expansion rate. So the constant expansion & contraction will enebitably result in a cracked manifold.
If weight is a considation as in for a race car, then there would be a reason for it, but for a Turbo street car, You'll be miles ahead both in durability & strenth if mild heavy wall steel tube is used instead.

Do you know of anybody who makes a mild steel manifold or has one for sale?

del slow I was in the same boat as you a few weeks ago. I finally got a new hks cast manifold and already i am not happy with the bolt placement and fittiment. Now I might have went with a obx and had the welds redone as someone already suggested.

I love the placement on mine, I can fit a T66 in there. That has as big a compressor as almost any turbo people run, and the space is precisely split between the body, and the LIM. Unless you move the turbo forward, how could placement be better? If you move it forward, good luck fabbing a CAI. Also, you can reach every bolt(engine to mani easily) the one prob, is you have to put the turbo/manifold in as one piece, due to access to those bolts(turbo/manifold). Anyway, It fits a PT67(or a T66), and a 4" DP, so thats all I need for 500rwhp If anyone wants to see how a T66 sits, visit Teamfc3s.org, and check my name under member cars. Carl

Bukwild, you want to sell that manifold then? Ill take it off your hands, then you could buy another. I posted a WTB ad in the 2nd gen section, a guy posted a rewelded OBX for sale in it, just check there or back a page. PM me if you will sell the manifold.

I am not sure if you really want it. Only reason I say that is getting the bolts to fit from the manifold to spacer to the turbo is horrible. The hex head bolts either hit the turbo or hit the manifold. I am still playing around with this.

Ditto, you should not need a spacer. Typically, you need to start all four, and then work around to tighten them properly. Otherwise you will struggle with one bolt. This is common to most manifolds, and has to do with the turbo, not the manifold. Carl

damn I thought you used a spacer between the turbo backside and the manifold. But I will try that without it. I will also try and take off the front cover to help with clearance

I would not remove the compressor cover, not required, and too easy to damage the wheel.. carl

Don't get one from SR Mororsports.

I bought a ss turbo manifold for my turbo vert off of him yesterday. He said he had them in stock for $800 which I thought was surprising.
I got it via UPS yesterday. Turns out the manifold is right off of e-bay. You know the ss-autochrome/obx p.o.s. for $150 that can be had all day long any and every day.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...7961342335&rd=1
After seeing one of those in person finally, all I can say is stay FAR away from one of those. I could have sautered someting together that would be better quality than that crap.
Anyways, I called SR immediately and told him he got it off e-bay and resold it to me at 6 times the cost. He pretended like he had never even heard of e-bay.
You could even see the grinding marks where they ground off the steel nameplate that had been tack welded on.
He is refuding my money, but I am out the shipping cost and a migraine headache as a result.
Not to mention that anything and everything on his website can be had for a lot less just about anywhere else.

I won't do business with them again....

It comes in both.
ANY HKS authorized dealer should have them.
If not, I think you can order them straight from the HKS USA website...

Isn't the HKS divided one ,made for the REW engine? If that's the case, it won't clear the LIM of the 2nd. Gen without adding on somekind of adaptor.

Dave, build exactly what you want, you have the skills, Mcmaster has the materials... Or, get an HKS cast undivided, and settle for 450@17psi with a PT67
