kaaz lsd to tii s4 lsd
Hey i recently bought an 93 rx7 with a kaaz lsd in it but the think clunks like crazy whenever im turning. Ive been doing a lot of searches on here and heard that the tii s4 lsd r just as strong and doesnt make any noise. I was wondering if it was a direct bolt on without any modifications needed, or is there a lot of work that needs to be done to get one on. Is there a diy on this forum on how to do the swap? I did a lot of searching but didnt come up with anything on what is needed to put one on. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanx in advance.

Its a direct swap. you have to take the rear out to work on it, you need to buy new bearings and have them pressed on and like any rear you need the right size shims to make sure you have the proper clearences and lash.

you actually don't need new bearings, the FC and FD diff bearings are the same. i put in an FD torsen and ordered new bearings, they were the same! yes checking clearances is the key, i had to do mine twice. first time a guy from my job said he knew how and it turned out too loose and whined while coasting. i took it down, and redid the backlash. no more whine but it does make a very slight clunk when engaging first gear. make sure you get everything you might need, bearings if you want and gear marking compound is very important.

all COMPETITION CLUTCH TYPE LSD's make clunking and chattering. If you want to quite down your unit make sure you have properly changed your oil on time. I have a KAAZ and love it!
