I think most of it has to do with the porting since this is one of the few T78 cars that actually held up the torque up to 7.5k rpm. We were having issues with the boost not holding at higher rpm so we pretty much stop at that point since the hp we made exceeded his expectation (400rwhp is all he wanted).
thanx 4 clearing everything up, see you in ny

So it would appear that ol' JD knows how to port a motor, eh?

I don't think they're talking about showoff's engine, but rather the overlapping that pp13bnos was talking about that you can having a SP engine with an overlap of a PP.....

Good to see it was made at 16psi, becuase I know your not making 426rwhp at 13psi at 11.2 Good to see the real numbers come out. Congrats.

Yup, that is what I was getting at when I asked about the pfc commander boost reading. Regardless, that is some really good power, I am sure the car screams

Ahh yes, now that sounds more like it.

426hp at 13psi would have made me ditch my KAI and get a T78 =P

16psi is more realistic... very similar to my numbers. I believe I was making 420 at 15psi - and we all know Steve likes to tune on the rich side for safety.

No, peak hp is made at 13.5psi eventhough it did go up to 15-16psi from 5-6krpm but only held to 13.5 by the time it gets to 7krpm.

on a side note, the car made 371rwhp@11psi (very stable boost since it was around the wastegate spring pressure).

thanx again for clearing that up steve, i didnt really want to comment, my setup is nothing special, just a solid motor and solid turbo... and although the boost did go upto 15-16 for it was only for a few seconds unto it settled at around 13.5pounds and held that to redline, once i fix my boost controller ill get some more numbers....

I have to do that... if i go WOT I lose traction 1st and 2nd. So I have to keep the boost down... 18psi on the KAI in 1st is a mess, lol.
