I picked up a used 8 wire J&S safeguard a month ago with intentions of installing it in my rx7. It did not come with a sensor, i was once told that i could use my stock sensor however after futher reading im begining to think thats not true.

I have seen photo's of the reccomended bosch sensor and it looks identical to the knock sensor on my 01 subaru 2.5rs, can I use one of them?

Can i use the stock rx7 sensor? i have both a T2 and a Cosmo RE Sensor, both of which look the same

Should i use something else?

before you ask / flame, i do not plan on using this for its retard function right now, only for the display
