The small size causes pressure drop. So all that good boost your turbo is making is not able to get into your motor.
He is right, (depending on type) bar and plate vs tube and fin and whatnot, cheaper ones are probably smaller. But even if they are smaller, the intercooler has far more space that the air can pass through.

The stock intercooler is something like 8x10x3" core. This ebay one is 26x12x4" so there are way more inner passages for the air to pass through making the possible CFM higher.

The ebay IC topic was beaten to death a few years ago. Basic summary was that the core offers less cooling but decent pressure drop. Name-brand solutions win, but it is a worthwhile $100 upgrade from stock.

So she's going in for a tune next weekend on the power FC. I'm told by the tuner there that he has no doubt it will hit 300rwhp on the stock injectors and pump. next on the list, 1000cc secondaries and a walbro 255gph external pump.

probably a few months off though, 300 will be fun for a while.

1000cc sec's aren't going to give much more ceiling over the oem 850s. Have you considered side-feed 1300s from RC Engineering or the standard Bosch 1680cc upgrades? Also, you meant to say an in-tank Walbro right?

from what I've heard 1000cc's will be just about right to max out my turbo at around 360hp. If I start bumping up my injectors too much my mileage is going to go for the *****.

I'm not sure what I meant about the bump, I haven't researched it yet, I'm guessing in tank pumps are easier?

The secondaries don't come on when daily driving and shifting at 3000 rpm.

So as long as you are driving normal, no need to be worried about fuel hungry injectors.

why spend the time to uninstall the stock 850's for just 150cc more of injector, Youll drop a couple % on the injector duty and still be at the same spot you were before the install.

Ahh okay, well 1300's it is then, they should support almost 400 rwhp with stock primaries. But I might be satisfied with 300 rwhp, so I don't know. Any more than that for a daily driver seems overkill anyway.

Just outta curiosity, what fuel-management are you running/ going to be running?

Between a Walbro and those sexy secondaries, you could very easily drop 4-6 points off of the duties and not notice any A/F change, for the worse.

Having the ability to +/- your duty-cycles is tantamount to good A/F tuning, and those secondaries coming in (5k under load, is it?) could throw a NASTY curve in there.

Fuel management?

Just getting the power FC tuned with factory fuel system on a small single. If i go bigger, i'll do whatever my tuner recommends. As of now though, he's fine with tuning the stock system for 300hp, but says i can do the pump any time and it wont effect anything.

I'll probably do the pump anyway, just because the stock one is likely getting lazy, or I could upgrade to a supra pump, that seems to be another option from what I hear.

love the vid, sound great! any chance at another, better quality?

i my self pieced together a turbo from here, a to4e w/ turbonetics undivided .82 a/r for $250 total

i got a mishimoto IC from ebay, compaired to the ebay cheapo i have, this thing is amazing!

if i had more money i would have gone with the ''R-line'' its huge (31" x 12" x 4").
i went with the ''M-Line'' ( 27.5" x 11.75" x 3")
passages aren't cramped at all. would recommened the ''r-line'' for u myself

heres some links
