Intercoolers?

Ok i'm looking to get an Intercooler for a Fd thats Street ported etc but still running Twin's. I may be going to a singe but in a year or so.

I have done alot of reading up on Ic's and have come down to ether Apexi FMIC or the M2 SMIC.

I do a quite a few Track days but its mainly for Fast road

Which would you guys say go for? I know there both good but i'm put of the FMIC a bit becouse of the Problem with air flow to the rad?

I did think about using a V-Mount but i want to keep the cosmetics of the car as stock as poss so i don't want to fit a Vented bonnet.

So Apexi or M2?

Also has M2 got a new web site? i can't get there site up? Is there anywhere else that sells there stuff?

Cheers
Chris

If your doing track days M2 med.or large, FMIC will give you over heating problems.

M2 went out of business and the rights to produce the intercooler went back to Kevin T. Wyum and his business ASP. You can either contact him directly (he's on the board) or buy from rx7store.net...

Here's some more info on intercoolers with a bias toward stock mounts...

http://www.fd3s.net/intercoolers.html

A V-mount doesn't need a vented hood. All the intercoolers will benefit from a vented hood but it isn't necessary for any of them. The V-mounts can be quite expensive unless you need to upgrade the radiator at the same time. Rotary Extreme sells quite a few in the U.S...

If your on a budget and not in a big hurry then watch the for sale forum. There is a M2 medium and an Apexi FMIC for sell as I type...

I would recommend the ASP IC for what you want. Although, you don't have to fit a vented hood to use a V-mount IC. A vented hood just optimizes a V-mount setup, but a stock hood will still work great with a V-mount. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
