Intercooler piping to turbo needs v-band??

I'm going to have Karack come over to my house and help me get my turbo setup installed as, but hes short on time and I don't want things going wrong. I have a Holset HX40 and planned on having him slightly modify my piping on that side to work with this new setup. I've seen him do it with other cars getting T70s..but my problem I'm noticing is that my Holset has a lip or what appears to be a v-band connector where the intercooler piping goes (picture at bottom of post).

My question:

Do I need to weld a v-band connector onto my piping? If so, where can I find aluminum v-band connectors in the right size I need? I've looked everywhere and can't find anything.

I took some measurements just in case:
Piping- Thickness 2mm, Inner diameter 59mm, outer diameter 63mm
Turbo- Ring(v-band connector?) outer diameter 74mm, Inner diameter 61.4mm, diameter just under the connector 66.3mm

I don't think this is exactly what you need but search the site more to see if they have it.

I don't know if 3 inch is the dia. of the piping or the v band.

I suppose you could always weld an elbow on there and use normal T bolt clamps after that. Or maybe grind the V flange down so it makes a lip and use a silicone elbow. I'm sure someone makes the v-band that fits it though. Might even make one that's already welded onto an elbow.

I was thinking the same thing, or cut the vband off of the compressor housing and use one of these http://www.mandrelbendingsolutions.c...Flanges/Detail

Try calling citydiesel.net, they may have exactly what you need to attach to the compressor housing.

He wouldn't have to cut it off. Thats what he needs. Just needs to discard one of the v-bands and weld the other to the piping.

Hmm..looks more cost effective grinding the lip down a little and smoothing it out. I think I'm going with that option. Thanks
