intercooler choice
well i have a choice between a old tube and fin blitz core that measures 24x10.5x2.75 and a ebay bar and plate core that is 24x12x3. now my setup is a stock 13b-re with standalone and a to4r. the car is setup for good response street and road course, the power i have is around 400whp. just wondering what intercooler will be more efficent on my setup. thanks zack

destroy, rebuild, repeat

i think they are both way too big. i was using a 20x9" ebay bar&plate core, running 15psi through a hybrid turbo, making about 330whp, and intake temps would still drop like a rock in boost. I think everybody goes way overkill as far as intercoolers. less bling = quicker spool

im not going for bling im going for efficent. i running more power than you were/are and a much bigger turbo, so that intercooler may have worked for you but may not be the best choice for me. just tring to get some opinions anyways

That's a good read.
Zach, what I would do is grab your compressor map and call Griffin. I wish I had bought my intercooler from them after the eff-up on PWR's part. Won't be going to them for ANYTHING EVER. The guys at Griffin new their cores flow ratings, pressure drops and effeicencies. I would talk to them knowing what your turbo puts out and what your engine ingests and get the core that is right with some room to grow.
How's the PJ coming along?
