Info on ts04 Turbo Please?
Alright here is what I am looking at buying, Now would you be able to tell me what this would be good for power wise, for a Rotary. I am a little confused for the compressor map.
Here is the compressor map.
Here is the rest of the info;
0.70 compressor
0.96 Turbine (hot)
Thanks Guy's An expediate response would be greatly apreciated.

Its on its way.........
The ts04 is a little larger physically than the t04e that was on my car... It could probably make some pretty good numbers, although range of that compressor is pretty limited, its a very narrow map, and it may be out of its range alot of the times... Thats sort of become a garrett trade mark though, when you compare their maps to 3k/schwitzer who's maps are shorter, but the efficiency islands alot wider... Overall, though I think 400 rwhp wouldn't be a stretch with the right turbine..Max

That kinda airflow is getting out of the range , but good intercooling and tuning may get you there....with a smaller turbo, you really need to pay attention to intake air temps when you start pushing them... That turbo is so close to my t04e that I can say you will make those numbers when the ambient temps are low, but probably will heat the air to much when its hotter out to make those kinda numbers.. I can really feel the hp slide with the t04e with every 10 deg of intake temp..max

A TS04 is NOT a T04S (T04S is AKA: 60-1). They are two COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TURBO compressors. YES the T04S is simular in response to a T04E 60 trim, but does flow a fair bit more air, but hes asking about a TS04.
T04S (60-1): 2.324" inducer 3.000" exducer.
TS04 (is the smallest in the "T" series, big shaft turbos): 2.300" inducer 3.304" exducer.
Like MAX said, the map is tall and narrow. It actually flows less effient at high flow rates then the T04S and preferes higher pressure ratios at lower rates (simular to the T04E like already stated). 400wrhp would be accomplishable, but not easily and on the edge. For a goal of 450 rwhp this is not your turbo for reliable hp that high.
BTW, you want to talk about broad maps? Look at the Garrett GT series...... widest maps I have yet to see with KILLER effiency, I'd think Garrett isn't known for tall narrow maps.

For every 10 lb/min airflow, it estimates about 100hp.
Look at the bottom x-axis and look how far right you can go.
As a rule, I'd keep it above 70% efficiency.
Looking at the plateaus, the turbo will do 500hp.
This will get you your 400hp at the wheels.
Knowing the 13B flow characteristics, it should hit that number between 2.0 to 2.4 pressure ratio or 15psi to 21psi.

Thanks Alot guy's I Will see what can be had with this turbo... and then Once I get some dyno numbers, i will post them! Thanks for all your help and comments... I still like the sections of the forum that still have mostly technical people in it... thanks...
