Okay I found out how to prime the fuel system. In the black diagnostic box you'll find a plug name F/P and another names GND. Jump the F/P to the GND and the fuel pump will run and prime the system. If anyone wantted to know... Also I have moved along on this project see pics bellow. I still have many little things to do, like the oil return and other things i cant think of right now.
To respond to previous post, its an HKS wastegate, and yes I am keeping the stock 550's injectors.

Where did you get that piece for the front of the compressor? The large 4inch intercooler coupler looking piece. I need one of those. Right now my filter is just clamped onto the housing and it tends to get a little hot and brittle, plus I need a cold air box. Soon, real soon.

I saw someone recently suggest buying a coupler at "Home Depot". Why not? Their plumbing department carries various sizes of rubber couplings for PVC pipe connections.

I have a K&N filter just hose clamped over the compressor inlet and it has melted the rubber around the K&N filter. It gets a little hot. Thats why I was asking about his. Plus I don't think I bought the K&N with the "better" rubber for the heat. I will need something like that when I make my cold air box also.

But you have a good point and I'll look there first, because its on the way home.

I am fffiiinnnaalllyyy finished. Well I finished a while ago but due to hurricans and down dsl, I couldn't load these pictures. The car is running really good, a little rich but its running good. The turbo spools up really quick and I love the sound of the SS HKS blowoff valve. With no leaks or anything, I am amazed that I was able to install the turbo and fuel system without any problems. To all of you that are thinking about it, do it, its easy. Im 19 and I was able to do it.

I would like to make a suggestion. It looks as though you used exhaust tubing for your IC pipes. I would replace the exhaust tubing with proper IC piping, for a couple of reasons.

IC piping will have a rolled lip that will retain the IC coupler. Where as straight tubing will not. At lower PSI levels you shouldn’t have a problem popping IC pipes. But once you start cranking up the boost, no matter how tight you make the clamps, they will pop off left and right. Not really a performance issue, but you can rest assured that it will pop at the worst time. Like when you’re trying to get out of the way of a semi coming at you.

Exhaust tubing with crimp bends (as apposed to mandrel bends) has a substantially smaller cross section in the bend. And it looks like the tubing was smaller than needed to start with, since it has been bumped up at the connection points. At lower boost levels this won’t cause too much restriction. But at higher levels it will choke the flow down a good bit.


Other than that, it looks like you did a very good job. Congrats!!!

my suggestion would be to install an AST. Also if you want to clean up the engine bay remove the colant lines to the throttle body. are you going to the meet on Dec. 11. hope so, i want to see that thing!!!!

Regarding the intercooler piping, I had my car sent to popular muffler shop here in miami to do my piping. The intercooler piping even though it isn't crimp at the end, it wont come off becuase it bearlly went on. Also the bends pervent it from really coming lose. What I had on the intercooler was 2 and 3/4 but all the had at the muffler shop was 2 and 1/2 so they had to flair the ends. As for the downpipe, its 3 inchs, with that turbo I heard it wasn't worth makeing it any bigger.

Simon I going to try to make it to the meet, there shouldn't be a reason why I wouldn't. To bad you missed the last meet. I was a big one. See you at the next meet.

i made the last meet but super late, i was at an autocross event and i rushed over there after, but there was only like 8-10 cars when i got there.

i can't wait to see your car in person. how long until you start boosting? what are you planning on running at low & high boost?
