ignition system on my single...

since i get alot of PM's for pics of my igntion system i finally got some pics to show you guys, it consists of:
(4) Crane Hi-6 amps
(4) Crane LX-92 Coils
triggered by the haltech E6k directly (removed stock ignitor) for all you Haltech users you must change the signal to "rising" I also had to make my own wires

on this setup the leading plugs have there on seperate coil and amp...i got a nice gain and great throttle response

verrry nice
Hey steve, the pipe from the compressor that meets the intercooler pipe by the filler neck is made of mild steel right?
I want to polish it to match the rest of my pipes but am unsure of rusting etc.

p.s. your blow-off valves are set up exactly like mine
i think my engine bay is gonna look really similar (i have the same fmic) minus your badass ignition setup

yes the HKS IC piping is all mild steel..i polished it then sprayed it with some clear coat cause it will rust
if you look closely you see my lower intake manifold is jet coated sterling silver... i actually jetcoated the enitre exhaust system manifold->turbine housiing->downpipe->wastegate->midpipe->part of catback. it does a good job moving heat through the pipes out the tailpipe

My ignition system is only "half" as good as that one !

I peeled of all the stickers on mine as to confuse nosey people.

I love my Crane set up Works a treat, just it realy wears the F*&$ out of my plugs. I have 80ohm total resistance wires which mean that a great deal of the energy created gets to the plug, thus wearing them out very quickly.

Poweraxel did you notice a reduction in plug life ?

I was wondering how many feet of wire between your amp and coils "Also if you think there will be any significant voltage drop for distances of over 4 feet or if anyone has any hard data." I plan on up-grading my primarys to. I was going to mount them on the passenger fire wall in an air cooled box. I planned on using 2 no noise computer fans for cooling. Kind of over kill but it is prox $500 for the ignition setup. I want to try to get the most bang and life out of them.

"I talked with Crane and they suggested nothing over 4 feet. They wouldn't give me any # for resistance to work with."

what they meant by "four feet" is from the amp to the battery... the signals are just low level pull to grounds from the haltech...actually youd be suprised to see how long the signa lwires on the stock oem 3rd gen harness are. keeping the ignition amps as cool as possible only helps!
its pretty funny as i have 4 crane boxes in the car you could hear the capacitors switching on/off repeatably very faintly
