Ignition Break up on my FD

I have jsut fiished doing my singel turbo conversion using a Holset H1E on my FD3 and I must say I am very pleased! The motor is on stock ports and so far made 300RWHP at 0.8bar bootst. However I couldn't push past this as the ignition is breaking down at the top end and the tuner didn't want to run any more boost just yet. I only have standard BUR9EQ plugs in and standard ignition. The tunner recommended 10's for a start and an ignition amp. After a quote of around £130GBP for a set of plugs and £250GBP for an amp I thought I would do some reading on here! I see a lot of people recommend the NGK B10EGV and these are available dirt cheap. My next question is should I need an ignition amp?
Goal was 350-360RWHP with no mre that 1.0 bar boost. Will the plugs hold out on there own for that or would I be better off with an amp too?
If so what options do I have? i.e I am looking for something cheaper than £250GBP.. So less than 400 Bucks I reckon.
Would like to know what you guy's use over there and whether you run both leading and trailing through the amp?

Cheers
Lee

Run 9's all around with an RX7 specific HKS Twin power. Should be more than enough for you. Many people here are using that setup with over 400whp. If you get the harness the Twin power is plug and play.

I would also look into checking your grounds on your coils as well as new 8mm plug wires.

Thanks for the info.. Is there any other option other than the HKS unit?

That's the easiest for you to do, seeing your power goals. Anything else will be much more money and excessive for what you need.

All Ngk 9s and an hks twin spark DLI here with 429whp... I have seen these applications first hand on cars with over 680whp stock coils.

would ignition breakup be more common in cold weather?

I am running FC coils with NGK 9's and this summer it was fine, and now I get intermitent breakup up top now that the outside temp is roughly 30-40 degrees.

If you are referring to my question, I have already changed them.

I always change plugs whenever I have an ignition problem, I am sure I have wasted alot of plugs that were perfectly fine.

I would think so, you have to remember that cooler weather=cooler running and intake air temps wich would require more fuel that would be added by your correction maps. If any part of your ignition is being stressed it will most likey show it in these conditions.

yea that is what i kinda figured. More dense air, more fuel, colder charge equals harder to spark.

thanks for the insight!

hmmm...well yea but maybe a change in plug would prolong these ignition problems from occuring? something like the NGK r7420's or the Greddy's... Maybe go with 10's all the way around...

how does your coil harness look? I had bad break-up problems when i first went single and found that one of the wires going to the leading coil had broke off and was just arcing over to the coil! Just another thing to check.
