ideal turbo capable of 300 hp on stock port

howdy- I am researching and sizing turbos to get me where i wanna go. lil background on my car
1970 vw bug
13b from 85 gsl-se
currently s5 intake. (will probably go to a cleaner itb setup)
megasquirt efi
built drag trans and suspension.

looking to make about 250-275 hp with the option of 300 with more boost. my ring and pinion is only guaranteed to 300 hp. when i convert to turbo and itbs i will switch to e85. big injectors (dont know if going to use 2 or 4) and all supporting mods. im looking for a turbo with a decent spool and midrange as my gears are short and the top speed of my car (gears limiting) is 130 mph @9k rpm. from what i have seen and understood a bug needs 250 ish hp to propoel itself deep into the 10s and that is my goal. i would love to be a 10 sec 125 trap car. i have looked into the baby hx35 wit the 12mm housing and it seems like a viable candidate. but any opinions are welcomed. i would ultimately like an integrated waste gate but open to suggestions.

thanks in advance.

the hassle with the stocker is its unique turbine flange pattern and poor boost control up at that HP
the bug will need custom stuff and a tight yet easy fit so is prudent you go with t04 , undivided .. and with V band
( undivided making the wastegate layout much simpler )

t04B-25 or t04B-35 .. 1.15 rear with P trim wheel , 52 -54 mm front will be doing this at a little less than one bar of boost
and these old diesel tO4B turbos are proven old school rotary turbo tech
and are also more efficient than later types at lower boosts under 1 bar
and can fit closer to the inlet manifold

..and best of all are dirt cheap

china is about $250 ish ( without gate and flanges ) whilst the real deal can be found $500 - $700

60-1 can be found cheap too.. but is slower to spool and more efficient at higher boost numbers and will take you to 350 rwhp at 1 bar

you are looking for a turbo that flows 40 pounds per minute. i am w Bumpstart on the TO4B option or i like the TO4E 46 trim. a really nice compressor map. you could go w a T3 stage 3 or stage 5 turbine wheel and a .83 hotside.

I would recommend an EFR! the spool time is insane even on a larger turbo... I cant imagine how awesome it would be on a smaller one. Borg Warner EFR 6258 Turbocharger

I would suggest the Garrett GT30R. Will put you ideally near 330 to 350hp plus a very quick response.

just my 2p.
