HT-18 Hybrid questions

yo

i'm trying to hybrid my stock (rebuilt) ht18 with a t04e comp housing but the bolt holes are slightly off on my compressor housing. I'm leaning towards the fact that its an ebay turbo and not a genuine garret t04e housing.

If anyone has any previous experience with building these hybrids your input would be extremely helpful.

Thanks

Are you trying to attach the T04E cover to the HT-18 backplate? Because it won't work. You'll need a matching backplate, and that'll also determine the type of seal you need (dynamic or encapsulated carbon). A T04E cover will likely hit the LIM anyhow.

no, the whole t04e compressor (wheel, backing plate, housing, and the to4e's dynamic seal)

So the 4-bolt pattern of the backplate doesn't match the CHRA?

i'll have to get out my caliper and take some measurments of the backing plate/center housing to see how far they are off. i would like to see it compaired to a true garret part.
