help on what fuel pump to buy
I just purchased the fuel kit from kgparts (injectors 860 prime 1600 secondary spacer’s clips and rails) for my 13BRE motor the block is stock for now with a t72 turbo on it. I am going to use the car just for drift. I am lost on what pump to buy and how to run the lines. I already have an aeromotive a1000, but I don’t trust it since I’ve heard a lot of stories on how they fail a lot. So now, I am looking at a Bosch pump. I am lost on should I run 2, run the stock pump and hook the Bosch up inline or just run one in tank eliminating the stock pump. I am also confused on how I should run the lines for this setup. I originally wanted to run stock under car and stainless steel in engine bay. I just looking for ideas on what’s the best setup to do.

personally i'm using this pump even though i'm aware it's far beyond what my car needs

weldon pumps have been around ages, and have a very big name in the drag racing scene.
their inline pumps have the highest suction on the market, but i would still mount them as any other inline pump.

i am only going to use this car at the track for drifting. only looking for 300 hp this setup since the block is stock. however once i blow it i will streetport it. i am looking for around 500 to 550 if it doesnt stress the motor. i dont know if i should stay with the a1000. if i do whats the best way to run it? i have the kg parts rails with 860 prime and 1600 sec. i dont know how to setup the lines and stuff though.

The way I have mine setup is -10 lines before the pump all the way into the fuel tank with a solid pickup positioned roughly where the stock pickup is. Then -8 from the pump to the fuel rails and a -6 from the regulator to the fuel tank for the return. I also have both fuel filters setup as per the diagram, the 100 micron before the pump and a 10 micron after the pump if I remember correctly. Also running their fuel pump comtroller and I have the tach signal hooked up to my m&w cdi box so it correctly controls the fuel pump flow based off rpm.
The only issue I ever had with the pump was once on the track I was losing fuel pressue and on the way home the fuel pressure woukd drop when I gave it gas. After talking to the extremely helpful and knowledgeable techs at aeromotive (according to them their pumps rarely fail and is almost always user error). It turned out it was just a clogged fuel filter. Replaced the fuel filters and never had a problem since.

I also have the hyperion fuel tank surge cover whichj I've been using in my car for many years and recommend to all fd owners. I basically can run my fuel tank to the empty line while on the track before I get fuel cut. I know because I took it down that far to test it.
