I believe its call the compressor side but Im unsure. I see it in different places, rotation wise for different intercooler setups and I was wondering how to turn it on a t78.

Not sure about greddy turbos, but it should either be a snap ring, or a few bolts going through straps that hold the compressor housing on. You should be able to see how to do it if you get in there and take a good look.

i have the same question about rotating the housing.... i think i have same issue that you have...

In my research, i believe it has a bolt to lock the claim to hold the housing, but i m not 100% sure. Pls let me know.

There are about 6 bolts behind the compressor housing. Loosen those up and turn it which ever you want it. Tighten them back up and you're set. I've never paid attention to a T78 how it is, but I think it's pretty standard on turbos.

its a t-bolt snap ring, loosen that take off teh compressor housing and positing where u want it then tighten teh clap back on. dont just loosen the clamp and then turn the housing, there is a o-ring between the housing and the center section take care not to damage that.

Also, turning the bolt clockwise will loosen the clamp, couter-clockwise will tighten it again.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL!

Make sure the snap ring is on correctly and tightly. Also, I HIGHLY recommend just re-clocking with the housing ON. I do understand the o-ring is behind the snap ring, however, it is going to be next to impossible to put the o-ring back in correctly with the turbo on the car. (And it's gonna be a bitch trying to clock it right with it sitting on your workbench, right?) Besides the o-ring is silicone, it's kinda hard to really damage it. If your not careful, this is what can happen, like it happened to me -

do i have to take the housing off and turn it whatever i want and put it back, or i can just turn it just loose the snap ring a little bit ??

As you guys said the o-ring is possible to mis-place while i m putting the housing back, is it any approaches to make sure the o-ring on the right place ??

there is the groove for th eoring on there. its pretty hard to misplace it unless you are not paying atention
you can use very little silicone sealant on th eoring just ot hold it in place.
once again, silicone is very easy to rip if you are not carefull i would take the housing off completely and then place the housing in the direction you need it to point without ever rotating it.

i dont think the compressor housing has anything to do with the rotaional parts. so no balancing occours only when yu pull off the compressor wheel. right guys?

Thats right. You could mark it up when you take it off, but with it spinning over 100,000rpm its best to get it balanced right.

No. Only if damage is done to the shaft or wheels or the clocking of the comp wheel to shaft is altered should the turbo be rebalanced.
