I think 14psi is their maximum efficiency range, correct me if Im wrong, I don't know much about single turbos, but usually they stay at that boost for a reason. Is 425 the bhp or whp number?

I put down 525 rwhp @21 lb with my T-78
That was just for "dyno brag" I keep it at 14- 16 lb for the street.

Efficiency ranges vary per the turbo.

80bazillion HP on stock ECU

Anyway, from how I understand things, it is not WISE to run extrememly high boost pressures in an FD. This is not a supra. Just ask these guys with that turbo what their 1/4 mile times are - I think you would be happy with 425hp or even 400hp. Also, don't forget that the larger the turbo the longer it takes to spool. If you are into drag racing from a stop, you might want to consider something a little smaller (like the GT35/40) that will spool faster, but still put out good numbers. That way you get more HP faster, but you won't get as much HP overall. It all depends what you are looking for. I would say (from what I've heard) that a T-78 would be an awesome highway racer or something that allows it to be sort of spooled up already. Running high boost on a rotary, though, is asking for a disaster, even if the thing is tuned by an expert. I am pretty sure you need upgraded apex seals or something to be able to do that safely (anyone feel free to correct me if I am mistaken)

the dude who built my engine said it would be god for 600 hp.. 3mm apex seals, (high flow bearings..) extended street port, bigger engine bolts, had to drill bigger holes for the bolts.. and alot of stuff i dont remember...

mmmm I think you would be hard pressed to see 600. Jason has an upgraded t-78 and dynoe'd at 506 with many other mods.....
You may also want to consider A-Spec's GT40r kit as it's supposed to be about the size of the T-78 but because it's BB should spool a bit faster. Just my .02

how laggy is a t-78 for the streets. it seems like people that have it say that it isnt and the people that dont say that it will never spool. wouldnt that be better for gas mileage or does it still suck?

I think it all depends on your corresponding mods as to how laggy it is. Also your porting will make a difference of course. I think it's a question of what's too laggy for YOU. What's laggy to one person isn't to another. You bought a sports car.... the gas mileage is gonna suck no matter what you do, and especially if you drive this car the way it's supposed to be driven your mpg will suck. Just my .02

true.... i think lag is overrated. its going to move no matter what and the time that the turbo is spooled up will make up for the time it wasnt

Well again that's all dependant on the application really. It's a matter of looking at what you're going to do with the car and deciding what the ideal turbo for you is.

Breaking tension bolts is not the problem.  You may be paying for modifications that are unnecessary.

I see that you're not in a normally native English speaking country.  Maybe the translation is a little off?

that has to be on race gas. too much boost to be running on pump. probably shouldn't run more than 16lbs on pump. i could be wrong. i can't even get my car started

sorry about the bad translation.. by the way.. in norway we have 98 octane pump gas... don`t know if that helps.... the dude that`s building it said it would be god for 2 bar presure... i know that is extreamly high..
but i also know that racers in australia realy goes that high..
i was hoping to go as high as 1,6 bar... thats about 25 psi i think... i can post al the mods on the engine to morrow... don`t remember every thing now...
