So according to this... NO ONE here has a car with a decent amount of miles on it with an aftermarket single turbo? I mean I know that these engines are iffy when they are pushing a lot of power but if one is really well tuned, it seems like they should be able to go for a while? Am I wrong or have people just not replied or driven their newly built engines very much?

About 5k miles but I only drive it about once every 2-4 weeks, so that's not bad.

These mileage figures are making that "single-turboed cars are more reliable" point that everyone always spouts off look pretty meaningless....

How do you guys put so few miles on your car? Perhaps a single turbo just isn't THAT fun after all......

I've got about 5k on mine so far, but since the conversion I haven't had to work on my car once out of necessity or fixing a problem that hindered driving the car. Now out of desire or just because I have to tinker with it once in a while, that is another thing. I know it will start every time and run the same everytime, it has been reliable for me so far.

I'd like to see a study done on the relationship of turbo size vs. mileage.. I'd bet that the guys with bigger turbos have more problems putting on the miles, seems like they pop motors more often. Maybe it's because they have to spend so much $$$ to upgrade everything that they don't want to drive it anymore.

about 30K miles since the rebuild 10 months ago. Engine just went bye-bye from what appears to be coolant O ring failure. The car was used as
1. daily driver
2. road course car
3. a few drag strip excursions (both 1/4 and 1/8 mile tracks)
4. autocross
5. extended cruises

Apex RX-6 Turbo still appears to be mint.
