How I Mounted My TII Coil In My FD

By cutting out some metal, I was able to silicone glue the TII coil where the stock leading coil was. Mine is reversable as the stock coil still can be bolted back in.

The clearance is very tight if the TB still has the water flowing through it for the fast idle cam/hot wax rod system. The water pipe on the bottom of the TB will hit the rear spark cable. But I removed this from my TB as I live in Houston.

If mine was not reversable, I could have mounted it lower or flipped it over.

With this setup, the mod is harder to detect.
I am using the HKS Twin Power on it.

I have mine mounted where my power steering pump used to be since I have a manual rack.

Does anyone know how much a new TII coil is from Ray? I am thinking I need to freshen my coils.

its not worth it to buy a new turbo 2 coil, parts like this don't wear out until they need to be replaced.

The attached diagram shows another way to wire in 2 coils on the leading of a single CDI ignition

Chuck,

I know this post is two years old. I finally got my hands on the leading and trailing coils for a TII and want to install them in my FD. Are you still using this setup and how does it work.

Anyone have any suggestions on the install. I have a Jacobs Rotary Master box and plan to add a MSD 6A to the leading later on. Should I even bother installing the trailings. I'm running 26psi on C16

Also please confirm that I have to remove all of the TII ignitors attached to the coils.

We offer a T2 leading coil mount that puts the leading T2 coil on the drivers side shock mount top. If you have the room there it allows for the stock plug wires and solidly mounts the coil.

$45 plus shipping. There are 2 types one that uses all 3 shock mount nuts and another which slips under just the 2.

recently installed a TII leading coil due to this post .... thanks chuck.

only difference was that i broke of the studs and replaced them with longer ones to anchor the TII coil to the same location that chuck installed his. works fine but i can not go back to the stock coil if i ever wanted to???
